Kathryn Hahn’s new comments after the end of Agatha all the time seems to imply that Agatha Harkness will not return to the MCU, which makes me very upset. Agatha all the time quickly became one of my favorite Marvel Studios projects, mainly because it continues many of the themes started in WandaVisionwhich I also loved, and puts Kathryn Hahn’s charismatic and captivating Agatha Harkness in the spotlight. Agatha Harkness was the perfect little-known Marvel Comics character to get a solo series in the MCU, and I would love to see her return.
Agatha all the time came to an end on October 30, with the finale exploring Agatha Harkness’s history with Nicholas Scratch, her experiences with her coven on the Witch’s Road, and her sacrifice to Death and return as a ghost. I loved Agatha all the time finale, “Maiden Mother Crone”, especially as it set up the next chapter in the story begun in WandaVision. Agatha Harkness and Joe Locke’s Billy Maximoff seemed to be heading off on a new adventure, but Kathryn Hahn’s new comments worry me that Agatha may not return.
Agatha Harkness May Not Return After Agatha All Along
In November 2024, Kathryn Hahn spoke to LA Times about your recent visit to Agatha all the timenoting that Agatha Harkness is “the part [she’s] should play in this period [her] life.” I could see how much passion Kathryn Hahn had for Agatha all the timebut Hahn stating that the series finale was a “beautiful and satisfying way to say goodbye” I worry that this is the end for Agatha Harkness. I really want to see Agatha Harkness return to the MCU, and while Hahn’s comments suggest that won’t happen, she leaves the door open.
Of course, I love that part and I love Joe Locke madly, and we’ll see what the future holds. In my opinion, this was a beautiful and satisfying way to say goodbye to this incredible character I got to play.
I’m still hopeful that Agatha Harkness will return to the MCU
Agatha All Along Teased Agatha Harkness’ Return
Although Kathryn Hahn’s comments support the idea that she will not return, as she said “goodbye” for Agatha Harkness, she stating that “let’s see what the future holds” creates the opportunity for her to return. I would love to see that happen, especially since there is so much more to Agatha Harkness that we haven’t seen. In Marvel Comics, Agatha Harkness spends much of her career as a ghost mentor to Wanda Maximoff’s Scarlet Witch, so seeing Agatha evolve into a ghost in Agatha all the time makes me hopeful that this is just the beginning of his story.
Agatha Harkness brings light, fun, entertainment, but also a brilliant darkness to the MCU that I’m desperate to see developed in the future of the franchise. With future spinoffs of WandaVision expected in the future, I think the door is open for Agatha Harkness to return, especially since Agatha all the time the finale ended with her leaving Westview with Billy Maximoff hoping to track down his newly resurrected brother, Tommy Maximoff. This makes me think that Agatha Harkness has an easy path back to the MCU, and there are several upcoming projects that could bring her back.
Where and when Agatha Harkness is most likely to return to the MCU
There’s still another WandaVision spinoff to launch
Since Kathryn Hahn made her MCU debut in WandaVisionand had its wizard villain developed further in the series’ first spinoff Phase 4, Agatha all the timeit seems easy to assume that Agatha Harkness will return in WandaVision next spin-off. The next MCU Vision the series will catch up with Paul Bettany’s White Vision after his departure in WandaVision end. I’ve also speculated that Tommy Maximoff will have a bigger role in Vision serieswhich would constitute an appearance by Billy Maximoff and his spiritual guide, Agatha Harkness.
Although Agatha Harkness is Scarlet Witch’s ghostly mentor in Marvel Comics, it appears she was connected in this way to Billy Maximoff in the MCU. Joe Locke’s aging hero Wiccan is expected to be involved with the MCU’s upcoming Young Avengers team-up, and Agatha could continue to be his guide in a project centered on the Young Avengers, which has not yet been confirmed. I’d love for Kathryn Hahn’s new ghost to whisper in Billy Maximoff’s ear long after Agatha all the timeand I would be thrilled if it culminated in his eventual resurrection in corporeal form.
