Karate Kid Legends Director Teases How Jackie Chan's Mr. Han Is Connected to Mr. Han

Karate Kid: Legends director Jonathan Entwistle teased how Jackie Chan's Mr. Han is connected to Mr. Miyagi and Daniel, hinting at their backstory. The story of Karate Kid: Legends sees Mr. Han track down Daniel (Ralph Macchio), seeking his help in training a new martial arts prodigy, Li Fong (Ben Wang). The trailer hinted that there was a connection between the original protagonist's master and Chan's character, something that will bring the pair together and explain how everything in the franchise is connected. For now, however, these connections remain unclear.

But, speaking to Weekly entertainment, Entwistle revealed a connection between Mr. Han and Mr. Han's family.which will be further explored in Karate Kid: Legends. The director explained how the two masters are connected to Daniel, also suggesting that there is already an established connection within the films for eagle-eyed viewers. Without giving too much away, I can say that Mr. Han and Mr. Miyagi are the connection to Daniel. The Han family and the Miyagi family have been linked since the old days. And there's a mention of it in the Karate Kid movie canon for those people who want to look it up.

The universe of martial arts is getting closer and closer

It is currently unclear what connection Mr. Han and Mr. Miyagi had, but given their central role in the cast of Karate Kid: Legends alongside Daniel, his past will likely be clarified early in the runtime. The series' original karate master has a long history with Chinahowever, since his ancestor, Shimpo Miyagi, ended up landing in the country by accident in 1625. It is claimed that he returned to Okinawa with a family and karate skills, which were later passed down from generation to generation, until the events of the film . However, one of its links to China is much more recent.

In Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 1, the group discovers a hidden box in Mr. Miyagi's house, revealing that he had a secret past as a boxer and that he killed someone during the Sekai Tekai tournament. They also discover that he was in China at one point.likely continuing his training, something that could have resulted in him mating with someone from the Han family. Since Entwistle said their bloodlines were connected in some way, it's possible the original master met his family at some point, perhaps being the catalyst for Chan's character becoming such a skilled martial artist.
