Carew being an original Gray’s Anatomy
Character makes his potential return more sought after than others, but Justin Chambers’ comments against such a return 4 years after Carew’s departure paint a better picture for Joe’s future. Chambers left Gray’s Anatomy As the show was in its 16th season, and although his character did not have a tragic end, Alex Carew’s exit was nevertheless one of Gray’s Anatomys most controversial. Between his last appearance done through voiceover and the fact that he left those he considered his family in Gray Sloan by saying goodbye by letter, Carew’s exit did not reflect the steps forward of the character.
Over the 16 Gray’s Anatomy Seasons Carew was a part of, he went through one of the most radical character developments, going from someone selfish, sometimes unfair, and detached from his peers to being Meredith’s man once Christina moved to Switzerland and someone who generally cares about others. Carew leaving Jo without even telling her in person felt completely out of character based on who he had becomeEven the movement reunited him with Izzy and his secret children. In light of the exit, Chambers’ opposition to return to Gray’s Anatomy Means good news for Jo and Meredith.

Justin Chambers is rumored to return as Carew on Grey’s Anatomy in the near future
Chambers has played a variety of different roles since leaving Grey’s Anatomy behind
Plenty of keys Gray’s Anatomy The characters have returned in recent years, well after their exit from the show. From Addison’s Storyline on Reproductive Healthcare in Gray’s Anatomy Seasons 18 and 19 to Arizona’s brief cameo in season 20 and Jackson’s recurring appearances in seasons 19 and 21, it became more frequent for important characters to reappear in the medical drama. However, this does not seem to be the case for Alex Carew, as Justin Chambers ruled out an imminent Gray’s Anatomy Return, call the chapter “closed for now,“ Although he reiterated how grateful he was for the opportunity in the medical drama.
Chambers’ refusal to return soon to Gray’s Anatomy Reportedly had to do with the same reason he left the medical drama. Indeed, Chambers left the show because he wanted to explore playing different roles and characters and leaving Gray’s Anatomy gave him the opportunity. While Chambers does not rule out a possible return in the futureHis focus continues to be very far away from playing Alex Carew again, and the complete opposite role he plays Accused Demonstrates the success he achieved in diversifying his career. Return this as soon as you care Gray’s Anatomy would go against his stated objective.
Carew’s return would be bad for Jo’s Grey’s Anatomy season 21 story
Jo has finally moved on from his betrayal and is happy
Karev does not return Gray’s Anatomy Season 21 is good news for Jo and potentially even Meredith. Alex’s departure from Seattle was puzzling, hurtful and unexpectedAnd it was viewed as that by Jo and Meredith. With Alex one of the few still at Gray Sloan aside from Meredith’s mentors and friends, Miranda Bailey and Richard Webber, his sudden departure may seem like a betrayal, especially to someone like Meredith who has lost her fair share of loved ones unexpectedly. Returned in Gray’s Anatomy Season 21 would add even more to Meredith’s plate, which is full between Catherine and her research.

However, the character most negatively affected by Alex’s return would be Jo Wilson. Indeed, it was difficult for Jo to trust someone, and her and Alex’s marriage had only just happened Gray’s Anatomy Season 14’s finale. The way Alex left her, she was torn and broken, and It took a long time for Jo to get over Alex’s betrayal. Return to Gray Sloan Memorial in Gray’s Anatomy Season 21 would have the worst possible timing for Jo, who is finally happy and expecting with Link, because it could rehash one of the saddest heartbreaks that Jo has to go through.
Does Grey’s Anatomy still need Carew to return?
The return of other original Grey’s Anatomy characters would work better
Considered as far Gray’s Anatomy came, every original character returning would bring joy to audiences. However, Alex’s return is the one that would make the least sense Gray’s Anatomy Season 21. Between the horrible way he left Jo, Meredith and the hospital and the reasons he had to do so – living with Izzie after finding love again and their children – Alex’s return could risk making his exit even worse, as it would be even more difficult to justify.
Even Easy Return would work better, as it could provide an intriguing reunion with Meredith, Miranda and Richard.
The return of any other key original Gray’s Anatomy Character would be more functional to the story. With Meredith still at the center of the storm with her groundbreaking research, Christina’s return wouldn’t be out of place. Even Izzie returning would work better, despite her more distance from Gray Sloan, as it could provide an intriguing reunion with Meredith, Miranda and Richard. Although Alex’s return may be counterproductive in Gray’s Anatomy Season 21, it could work later, so Chambers’ openness to return eventually is good news for the future of medical drama.
