Jujutsu Kaisen closes the manga with a final expansion dedicated to Choso (and it makes us sob)

Jujutsu Kaisen the recent final expansion featured several exciting surprises, and one of the most poignant panels involves a fan-favorite character, Choso. Although Choso unfortunately did not survive Sukuna's most violent attacks, this additional scene concluded the plot of the half-human, half-cursed spiritual character in the most symbolic way.

One of Choso's greatest strengths was his love and protection of his brothers, and this facet of his personality was referenced in the end. The hero finally reunited with the brothers he adores most, in a moment that will certainly touch the hearts of fans.

THE Jujutsu Kaisen Finale reunited Choso with his brothers, Eso and Kechizu

Choso died due to Sukuna's attacks to save Yuji Itadori, his only living brother

Although Jujutsu Kaisen manga ended in September 2024, it was recently announced that an extended epilogue would be released to expand on the ending that had already debuted. One of the most heartbreaking details added in these additional pages relates to Choso and his death, which occurred in chapter 259. While Choso and his brother Yuji fought the King of Curses, Sukuna, he almost killed them both with flames. Instead of allowing your brother to die, Choso died valiantly for Yuji's sake. This bravura scene from the manga can be seen in a post @Go_Joverchronicling Choso's most selfless moment.

Choso's sacrifice was one of the saddest but most significant scenes in the mangasince the relationship between him and Yuji wasn't always so positive. At the beginning of his arc, Choso aligned himself with Kenjaku and the Disaster Curses, seeking revenge on Yuji for killing his brothers, Eso and Kechizu. Choso was unaware that Yuji was also related to him, but once he realized this fact, he immediately vowed to fight alongside Yuji, protecting his last living blood relative from danger. Thus, it was particularly significant that Choso willingly gave his life for Yuji, proving how close the couple had become.

The additional scene beautifully wraps up Choso's character arc

Choso was finally able to interact with his brothers and realized that they had no resentment towards him.

In the additional final expansion scene, posted by @Go_Jover in X, Choso meets Eso and Kechizu one last time, apologizing to his brothers for allowing them to die so many years ago, an occurrence he still feels guilty about. Your brothers respond with understanding and compassion, telling Choso not to apologize so much and that they forgive him completely because "we are the ones who imposed on you the role of taking care of our little brother.." At the end of the panel, they tell Choso that "it's time for choice [his] final words", to which Choso responds "Right...", upon realizing that he has reached death.

Fans will be grateful for the extra panels added to Choso's death scene, because since his brothers passed away before Choso was introduced to the story, the trio of brothers never got a chance to interact otherwise. Choso's overall goal in life was to keep his brothers safe, and the way he died was the culmination of that goal, as he saved his only remaining brother, Yuji, from dying during the Sukuna fight. Choso repaired her relationship with Yuji at the end of Jujutsu Kaisen, and now, with this final scene, he cleared the air between him, Eso and Kechizu as well.
