The film stars Jim Carrey as the Grinch alongside Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Bill Irwin, Molly Shannon and Anthony Hopkins as the narrator.

In fact, it became the second highest-grossing Christmas film at the time of its release, behind Alone at home, until it was surpassed by Illumination's 2018 animated version The Grinch. While Carrey undoubtedly gave a standout performance as the Grinch, the live-action adaptation divided audiences with its dark humor and tone. In turn, the public is betting on watching the classic 1966 cartoon, which is also being broadcast on Peacock.
