Jason Momoa's return to DC Universe in a dream role may have finally been confirmed more than a year after the end of the Aquaman franchise. The next DCU films are mostly confirmed as James Gunn's rebooted franchise gets underway. As is evident in James Gunn's book Superman film, the actors responsible for bringing the Justice League to life are changing. This leaves Jason Momoa out of work as Aquaman, but the actor may have another role planned as part of the DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
Jason Momoa's personal Instagram account, the actor confirmed that negotiations are underway between him and DC Studios. The actor took to social media and posted an old piece of news in which he talked about being recast as Lobo, a DC character that Momoa has been a fan of for a long time:
The excerpt posted by Momoa revolves around the actor's older comments that if he got a call about playing DC's Lobo, it would be an immediate yes. At the time, Momoa confirmed that he had never received such a call from DC. However, the repost of the excerpt on Momoa's Instagram is accompanied by the caption "They called," proving that Momoa returning to DC as Lobo is expected more than a year after hanging up his trident as Arthur Curry/Aquaman.
