Mufasa: The Lion King is one of the most anticipated upcoming family films, serving as a prequel to the 2019 film The Lion Kinga live-action remake of Disney's classic 1994 animated hit of the same name. The film tells the story of a young Mufasa, before he gained the title of king, and details his rise to power after his humble beginnings. Both previous incarnations of The Lion King were big hits with families and so this new film is raising questions about how suitable it will be for younger audiences.

The Lion King's most disturbing moment was Mufasa's death, which is, to be fair, a pretty difficult scene, but even though Mufasa: The Lion King has a similar plot point, it will contain nothing worse than what has come before in the series.
