Alanna Gold certainly made a splash as a new cast member on Selling sunset Season 8, but is the Pioneertown plot all for Clout? While the wilderness-loving maven initially seemed more down-to-earth than her fellow Oppenheim Group agents, her star quickly deflated when Alanna’s Pioneertown bragging came to light. It seemed at first that Alana just wanted to bring the feeding agents together for a fun weekend away, but it could have been a way for her to get more online attention.
As one of the best real estate shows on TV, Selling sunset Features highly fashionable and dramatic real estate agents on the Sunset Strip all working for Brett Oppenheim and Jason Oppenheim to sell luxury homes. However, Alanna could have been a production factory to build drama and a name for herself outside the show. ahead of Selling sunset Season 9, it’s time to check out some of the signs.
Alanna got a lot of pressure because of Pioneertown
She owns less than 1% of the city
Alana still started controversy Selling sunset Season 8 by falsely claiming that she owned Pioneertown, a small desert community near Joshua Tree in California. During her debut on the show, Alanna boasted about owning the whole town when talking to Amanza Smith, Mary Bonnet and Nicole Young, even jokingly calling herself the “Sheriff.Jason asked how much it would cost for him to buy it, and Alana replied,You guys don’t get to know that. You can’t have it, it’s ours.”
“Ms. Gold has a small minority non-controlling interest in an entity that owns six of 35 parcels in the Mane Street area.“
However, her claims were quickly debunked by Pioneertown residents, who issued a public statement on Instagram through the Pioneertown Gazette Clarifies that Alana only owns a small part of the city. In fact, Pioneertown is owned by over 100 different parties, and their share represents less than 1% of the land. “Mrs. Gold has a small minority non-controlling interest in an entity that owns six of 35 parcels in the Mane Street area,“, the publication clarified.
This false allegation reached the community because it brought down the history of the city. After the scandal emerged, Alanna reached out Pioneertown Sun Apologize. She admitted that she was exaggerating and clarified that she and her husband bought a few percent in the area but did not own the town.
“I want you to know that I meant no harm, I love Pioneertown and I’m just too excited to talk about it.“
Alana expressed regret for any confusion and vowed to set the record straight going forward. However, it was too late to take back her claims of “owning” the city, making Alana seem like a narcissist. Nevertheless, it gave her a lot of pressure, which is perhaps what Alana wanted all along.
Alana may want to become the breakout star of the show
She will have to compete with some big names
Alana was unassuming Selling sunset At first, though, her Pioneertown brag makes her look like she might want to be the breakout star of the Netflix show. Since iconic villain Christine Quinn departed the series in season 5, various cast members have competed to be the main character. Bre Tiesi certainly took center stage when she was cast on the show, likely due to her fame as one of Nick Cannon’s many baby mamas and fiery personality.

She rises to the occasion several times on the show and isn’t afraid to compete with Chelsea and Mary for a Manhattan Beach property early in Selling sunset Season 8. She will have to work for him, but the Pioneertown scandal only increased her visibility.
