Mitchell and Halstead are not the same character, although Mitchell’s backstory of being an LAPD officer for 10 years seemed like a subtle nod to Safer’s previous character, considering that he was in Chicago PD for 10 seasons. Both characters are passionate about justice and protecting the people they love, but Mitchell is much hotter and willing to break the rules for a good cause than Halstead was. Mitchell’s desire to strengthen the local police and believe that anything goes in the name of justice for Mike is more similar to Chicago PDS Hank Voight How to Halstead.

The personal history underscores how offensive Halstead’s exit was for the character, as he moved from place to place and almost abandoned his wife, who did not like how Halstead was as a husband to Hailey Upton.

If his partner hadn’t broken up with him, he probably would have returned stateside to try to figure things out after the fall. The personal story emphasizes how offensive Halstead’s exit was for the character, as he moved from place to place and almost abandoned his wife, who did not like how Halstead was as a husband to Hailey Upton.

Why Chicago PD didn’t get to show Halstead’s post-intelligence arc

The actor has already left the series and is not available to film any more scenes

Filming Halstead’s life after he left the Intelligence Unit would have required Jesse Lee Soffer to return At least some time after his character left Voight’s team. This was not possible, because Safar had already decided to leave. Chicago PD And so there was no opportunity to film the post-intelligence scenes. This is not unusual in Chicago PD. Tracy The fate of Spiridakos Remains something of a mystery after Upton left Chicago PD and drove away in search of a better job at the end of season 11.

Upton’s departure makes it even less likely that Chicago PD. will ever provide a reasonable explanation for what happened to Jay after he left Intelligence. Now that Upton and her ex-husband are both off screen, there’s no pressing reason to explain Halstead’s absence or even mention him. Thus, Halstead’s post-Intelligence life will always be left to the imagination of the audience. The actor has moved on and is now starring in FBI: International, So there is no hope that Halstead’s character will be redeemed after his exit story.

A spinoff of Chicago Fire, this police procedural drama follows the detectives and uniformed patrol officers of the Chicago Police Department as they work to crack cases and put criminals behind bars.
