In 4 words, the penguin confirmed the worst thing any Batman villain has ever done

Notice! This post contains SPOILERs for The PenguinWith just four words, The penguin confirmed one of the worst things a Batman villain has ever done. As seen in the new DC show, Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb is willing to do whatever it takes to become Gotham City’s next big boss. While this involves several cruel and truly heinous acts throughout the series, one, in particular, is notably evil on multiple levels.

Set just after 2022 Batman, The penguin sees Oz Cobb rising through Gotham’s underworld, removing his rivals and any obstacles in his path. To that end, The Penguin does a lot of things in its spin-off that are quite despicable and horrible in its quest to be on top. However, the worst thing Oz Cobb does by far is one of the last, as seen in The penguin episode 8, and it was motivated by just four words.

The Penguin Made Oz Cobb One of DC’s All-Time Greatest Villains

Possessing great (and incredibly dark) ambition

A.D The penguin sees Oz Cobb taking advantage of the power vacuum created after the death of Carmine Falcone, the head of Gotham’s largest and most powerful crime family. Accompanied by her new right-hand man, Victor Aguilar (Rhenzy Feliz), the duo faces off against Carmine’s daughter, Sofia Falcone (Cristin Milioti), and also Salvatore Maroni (Clancy Brown). Having removed his rivals and unified Gotham’s gangs under his leadership, Oz Cobb’s gradual rise in Gotham’s underworld is quite impressive.

“The worst thing Penguin does surprisingly happens after he wins, having already killed Salvatore Maroni and sent Sofia back to Arkham State Hospital…”

However, Penguin getting everything he wanted at the end of the show had its costs. He made some truly dark decisions along the way, such as betraying those he convinced had his loyalty and even burning alive those who opposed him. However, the worst thing Penguin does surprisingly happens after he winshaving already killed Salvatore Maroni and sent Sofia back to Arkham State Hospital.

Victor’s death is easily one of the most brutal things DC has ever done

Extremely shocking (and so personally bad)

Tragically, Oz decides to strangle Victor Aguilar in the final scenes of The Penguin end. Having received everything he ever wanted, one would think Oz would keep Victor close. After all, Penguin wouldn’t have gotten even halfway without Victor being there to save his life, keep his mother safe, as well as being an important confidant. In the same way, Victor wouldn’t be involved if Penguin hadn’t taken the young man under his wingguiding him to the point that it was Victor’s idea to ally himself with all of Gotham’s gang deputies, offering them the chance to rule themselves after betraying the former gang leaders who were part of the old regime/hierarchy of Gotham. Gotham.

While strangling Aguilar, Pinguim claims that killing Victor was motivated by his desire to eliminate weakness now that he is on top. However, this only serves to make Victor’s death even more terrible because Oz still has soft spots close to him: his comatose mother and his girlfriend Eve. Likewise, Oz has no idea that Eve cheated on him to Sofia in previous episodes of The penguina secret betrayal that led to the kidnapping of Oz’s mother, the truth about his brothers’ deaths finally being revealed, and his mother’s resulting stroke.

Victor’s Last Speech Makes Oz’s Crime Worse

“You are family to me”

Tragically, it’s also important to note that Penguin doesn’t kill Victor until the young man tells Oz that he is his family. This is what makes Victor a weakness in the Penguin’s eyes, as he is someone who could be used against him in the future.. As Cobb himself says when killing the only one who was by his side from the beginning: “That’s the thing about family. It’s your strength. It drives you. But f*** if it doesn’t make you weak too. And I can’t have that anymore.”

Oz also apologizes to Victor as he shockingly kills him. The Penguin ending, telling him that he is a good man with a good heart (which only serves to make Oz’s murder all the more evil and truly disturbing). There are many horrible things that Batman villains have done on screen. However, Penguin Killing Victor arguably ranks very highly due to how personally dark and evil it iswhile also serving as one of the show’s biggest twists and shocks.
