Between Mission: Impossible – Reckoningand both Transformers One and Rise of the Beasts, Paramount found itself in a somewhat inconsistent box office situation. Although the combined power of A peaceful place: first day and Smile 2 kept them on the positive side of things, when it comes to their triple-digit cost productions, they haven’t had a big hit since Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick in 2022.

To Mission: Impossible 8 come with such a high budget, also goes a long way toward explaining why Paramount is considering making it the last. Cruise and writer/director Christopher McQuarrie have been reluctant to confirm this, even though the former not only has a busy schedule but also signed a first-look deal with Warner Bros. With all these elements in mind, Mission: Impossible 8The box office could make or break the future of the franchise.

Our view of the mission: Impossible 8 budget

The greatest film would be the best note to leave

Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt looks worried in Mission: Impossible 7.

Although the combined power of McQuarrie and Cruise produced the series’ best episodes, the reported high Mission: Impossible 8 the budget tells me the film is probably the one to launch the franchise. Even with the production delays, it seems likely that the team intends for this to be the biggest one, especially to wrap up Reckoningsuspenseful ending, and with Cruise focused on so many other projects, including the developments of both Superior weapon 3 and Days of Thunder 2the adventures of Ethan Hunt may need to end for a while.
