I’m still devastated that the MCU killed off two of its best new characters just weeks after introducing them

Agatha all the time introduced two of the MCU’s best new characters only to have them killed off in a matter of weeks, and frankly, I think it’s tragic. Despite including a cast of lesser-known characters, these new additions to the MCU have ensured Agatha all the time as a fan favorite. Additionally, it introduced two new high-ranking players to the roster of the MCU’s most powerful characters, in the form of the chaos magic-wielding Wiccan and the personification of Death himself.

The show also helped humanize the titular villain-turned-antihero, though Agatha still retains some of her trademark nefariousness in Agatha all the timethe end. Although Agatha is now technically dead, I’m seriously hopeful that Kathryn Hahn will return to the MCU in a significant role now that her ghost appears to have teamed up with Billy Maximoff when they were last seen embarking on a mission to find Tommy. I’m less hopeful, however, about two other characters who were taken from us almost as soon as they were introduced, despite the lasting impression they immediately made.

The MCU killed off Lilia and Alice in Agatha just weeks after their introductions

Alice and Lilia survived three and five weeks respectively

Lilia Calderu and Alice Wu-Gulliver were featured in Agatha all the time episode 2 when Agatha and Billy began to form their coven to travel the Witches’ Road. His peculiarities and strong characterization were enough to make good first impressionswith its appeal only strengthening in subsequent episodes. Lilia, in particular, is now the star of one of the best TV episodes the MCU has ever released. Agatha all the time episode 7.

Alice was killed just three weeks later, in Agatha all the time episode 5, when his attempt to save Agatha was rewarded with the drain of her powers and life force. Lilia made a similar sacrifice two episodes later, urging the remaining clan of three to press on and complete the road while she remained behind to decimate the Salem Seven with a cunning Hail Mary in the Divination Trial tower. The fact that they were both killed in the middle of doing something virtuous brings extra pain after making such an impact in its short-lived arcs.

Lilia and Alice’s deaths made sense for the show, but were a shame

Lilia and Alice’s deaths were significant, yet regrettable

Alice and Lilia in Agatha All Along Episode 3

In general Alice and Lilia’s approval was arguably at its highest moments before their deaths. Alice Wu-Gulliver was warming up to Billy, showing kindness where her initial scenes portrayed her as distant. This was further exemplified by his attempts to rescue Agatha, despite Agatha’s general antagonism towards the clan at that time. Lilia, in turn, stole the show Agatha all the time episode 7 and finally mastered his incredible powers of divination before recognizing that his death was linked to his clarity.

As Rio Vidal pointed out when transporting Alice to the afterlife, she was a protective witch who died protecting someone. Lilia’s divination, however, was essential to concluding her trial and might not have been as clear if not for her proximity to death. With that in mind, I admit that their deaths made sense in the context of the series – but I will always regret not being able to see them again in the MCU, except in some particularly special circumstances.

The MCU Could Still Bring Lilia and Alice Back, But It Seems Very Unlikely

Death isn’t always permanent in the MCU – but it could be for these two

Death in the MCU, as in Marvel Comics, is not always permanent. Agatha all the time alone proved this, as the seemingly dead Billy and Tommy Maximoff have now found new bodies to stay alive. This appears to have been possible thanks to Billy’s incredibly powerful chaos magic, which he used to “revive“Tommy in Agatha all the time episode 8. It’s logical that he wants to do the same, albeit through different means, with Alice and Lilia. after feeling guilty about their deaths following the revelation that the Witch’s Road was entirely his creation.

Not only is the MCU already filled with new and much more prominent characters that Marvel may be reluctant to publicize, but their deaths were significant.

Unfortunately for the prospective future of these two characters, however, their revival remains unlikely. Not only is the MCU already filled with new and much more prominent characters that Marvel may be reluctant to publicize, but their deaths were significant. In addition to their sacrifices, they were an integral part of the central motif of death and its importance in the cycle of life in Agatha all the time. While I’m not suggesting they measure up, bringing them back to life would be akin to doing the same to Earth-616’s Tony Stark, negating the impact and importance of their sacrifices.
