The recently released full trailer for Robert Eggers’ upcoming remake of the iconic vampire movie Nosferatu Made me even more excited about it than ever before. Nosferatu is only Robert Eggers’ fourth film, but what he lacks in scope he more than makes up for in quality. Each of Eggers’ three previous movies have received universal acclaim from both critics and fans, and the Nosferatu Trailer indicates that Streak is not about to end with the gothic horror story.
Hit theaters on Christmas 2024, Nosferatu is poised to be a reimagining of the original 1922 silent German expressionist film by director FW Murnau. Although most of the character names and major story beats will be carried over, Eggers’ adaptation will almost certainly expand on the threat that the vicious and evil Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgård) poses to Western Europe. As a true Robert Eggers fanatic, Nosferatu has been one of my most anticipated films since its announcement. After seeing the full Nosferatu trailer, I’m ready to experience Eggers’ terrifying vision.
The new Nosferatu trailer shows why Robert Eggers was perfect for the vampire movie
Eggers is a modern master of creating dread
One of the defining characteristics of Nosferatu And from Count Orlok, the demonic vampire at its center, is the sheer terror they convey. Nosferatu Leaning heavily on the gothic origins of the traditional European vampire, the dark weapon against the audience, because it hides danger and terror around every corner. so too, Count Orlok’s whole appearance is intended to be unsettlingFrom his pale face and hairless head to his untouchable long fingers that end in sharp nails that were meant to cut and bleed.

Constantly building dread is a hallmark of Robert Eggers’ workAnd that’s what makes him the perfect fit Nosferatu. The dark has operated as his playground in the past, especially in his psychological thrillers The lighthouse and his historical epic The Northman, both of which still drip horror vibes at times. With a character as creepy as Count Orlok to build the story around, I have faith that Eggers will be able to extract every ounce of terror from the source material. Add in his unwavering commitment to period details, and Nosferatu Should be a benchmark horror movie.
The official trailer of Nosferatu makes the movie even more exciting
It is obvious to increase the stakes and weight of the original
The original Nosferatu Movie followed the same overarching plot as Bram Stoker’s DraculaWhat it was based on. The trailer for Eggers Nosferatu indicates that the remake will raise the stakes (vampire pun intended) and craft Orlok not only as a blood-sucking vampire to feed Thomas Hutter (Nicholas Hoult), his wife Ellen (Lily Rose-Depp), and the denizens of Wisborg, the city to which Orlok moves. The trailer, and specifically Willem Dafoe’s character, Professor Von Franz, implies that Orlok has much larger ambitions:
This creature is a force more powerful than evil…its desire is to consume all life on earth.
The increasingly famous image from the trailer of Nosferatu’s clawed hand extending its shadow over the entire city (which is presumably Visborg or a similar stand-in) is the perfect visual to describe Orlok’s level of growing influence. Other images, including the grinning crowd of rats and characters with bloodshot eyes, indicate that Egger’s Count Orlok will have much more than blood-sucking powers at his disposal. The remake seems to increase the threat that Orlok poses to Western Europe Overall, makes me even more excited to see this movie than when I thought it was simply a stylized remake.
I’m so ready to see Nosfertu in December now
It might be the highest-quality horror movie of the year
One element that needs to be called in regard to these Nosferatu Full trailer (and teaser trailer before it) is what it chooses not to Discover. I, like many movie fans, can’t stand when too much is revealed in a trailer, and it’s a trend that has invaded Hollywood trailers in all genres. The Nosferatu Trailers have hidden perhaps the single most-anticipated element Of the entire movie: Bill Skarsgård’s Count Orlok. Given how incredible early reports of Skarsgård’s transformation are, it’s a genius way to keep some mystique heading into the Christmas release date.
