I’m convinced the villain of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is an obscure OG character

Notice! This post contains spoilers for Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

The brand new Wizards of Waverly Place spin-off show Wizards Beyond Waverly Place It ended shockingly with the appearance of a mysterious evil hooded figure, and I think I’ve guessed exactly who is hiding under that hood. Based on the ages of Justin and Alex Russo, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place takes place approximately 15 years after the end of Wizards of Waverly Place. A lot has happened since Wizards of Waverly Placeincluding Justin being fired from WizTech, giving up his powers, and starting his own family with his mortal wife, Giada, and two sons, Milo and Roman.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place The cast of characters features not only Justin Russo and his family, but also Billie, a young wizard who Alex wants Justin to train. However, just like the theme songs of Wizards of Waverly Place and Wizards Beyond Waverly Place I suggest, not everything is what it seems. THE Wizards Beyond Waverly Place episode “Wiz-Taken Identity” reveals that an evil being is after Billieand I believe that the secret of this villain’s identity is hidden in an 11 year old boy Wizards of Waverly Place film.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’s Villain Could Be Evil Character Alex From The OG Movies

Evil Alex was the antagonist in Wizards’ Return: Alex vs. Alex

Evil Alex in Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex

In “Wiz-Taken Identity”, the dark wizard Morphia Murkshadow steals the identity of Minister Bigelow McFigglehorn, who works for the Ministry of Wizarding Education and is on his way to give Billie a pop quiz. Despite managing to tie up the real Minister McFigglehorn, Justin, Billie and Roman, Morphia proves not to be as formidable an opponent for young Billie, but that’s because she’s not the true villain.. The real villain in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place appears at the end of the episode, but his identity is completely hidden by a large black hood.

While there are few hints as to who this hooded figure could be in the show, I think the secret is in 2013 Wizards of Waverly Place film, Return of the Sorcerers: Alex vs. Alex. In the film, Alex Russo removes all the parts of herself that she believes people don’t like. To do this, she recites the spell, “Selfish, petty and tired of rejection, take those parts to a place of reflection.”

Almost immediately, Alex realizes that although the spell worked in the sense that only the kindest parts of her remained within herself, the parts she rejected created Evil Alex. Unfortunately, Evil Alex was a second, fully autonomous version of Alex who quickly became a major threat. In the end, Alex managed to thwart Evil Alex’s (and Dominic’s, who was working alongside Evil Alex’s) plan, but there are several reasons to believe that she may have returned and may be the mysterious figure in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

Evil Alex was a second, fully autonomous version of Alex who quickly became a major threat.

How Evil Alex’s Original Plans Connect to Alex’s Warning About Billie

The fate of the world is in Billie’s hands

At the beginning of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, Alex warns Justin that the fate of the world is in Billie’s hands (and, by extension, Justin’s, since he’s coaching her). The exact threat the world faces is not yet defined in the series, but this could be related to the danger that Alex and Dominic posed. In Return of the Sorcerers: Alex vs. AlexDominic created a machine called the Dominic One Thousand, which trapped mortals in marbles.

Dominic and Evil Alex’s plan was to imprison every mortal on Earth and then take control of the wizarding world as its new rulers.

Dominic and Evil Alex’s plan was to imprison every mortal on Earth and then take control of the wizarding world as its new rulers. This would more than qualify as the world in danger if it really is Evil Alex behind the hood. This goal is far from the only connection between Evil Alex and the villain in Wizards Beyond Waverly Placehowever. Most notably, just like Evil Alex in the film, the villain in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place has purple magic.

How could evil Alex return after being defeated in The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex

Alex has absorbed evil Alex back into herself, which could leave the door open for his return

At the end of Return of the Sorcerers: Alex vs. AlexAlex managed to defeat Evil Alex by essentially absorbing the parts of herself that she had removed. This method of defeating Evil Alex could certainly leave the door open for his returnas this means that Evil Alex technically still lives inside Alex Russo. The film also already created this idea, as Alex continued to believe that he had defeated Evil Alex, only for Evil Alex to appear again. At one point, Alex even jokes that she “think” Evil Alex is truly defeated.

This would also make sense narratively in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Selena Gomez is the show’s only guest star, but she remains an incredibly beloved member of the Russo family. This storyline would still give Alex a major role in the spin-off, without requiring Gomez to appear in multiple episodes. This would also explain why the villain’s identity needs to be hidden – clearly, it’s someone the audience would recognize and will be a big reveal.

Currently, this is just a theory. There are a number of shocking Wizards of Waverly Place characters that could be revealed under the hood. Based on Return of the Sorcerers: Alex vs. Alex and the tips appeared Wizards Beyond Waverly Place So far, though, I fully believe that Evil Alex is coming to fruition. Wizards of Waverly Place restart.
