Welcome to Plathville star Moriah Plath uses her social media with intention, and I feel like the intention is to create drama. I watched avidly Welcome to Plathville since its debut in 2019, and have expert knowledge of all the dynamics at play on the show and off-camera. Welcome to Plathville Season 6 finished airing in early October 2024 and was unlike any of the previous seasons. What’s changed most is that the show’s focus has shifted to highlighting more about the love lives of parents Kim and Barry Plath and their four adult children.
Welcome to Plathville viewers witnessed Moriah’s first relationship and breakup in seasons 2 and 3, and she just ended another breakup in season 6. Kim brought her boyfriend, Ken Palmer, when Barry and the whole family for the first time, while Barry discovered that his son Micah Plath’s DMs were blowing up because of her interest in his father. Additionally, Lydia Plath recently got out of a relationship, as did Plath’s older brother, Ethan. However, Moriah’s love life was the most dramatic of Season 6, and I noticed she’s taking that drama to social media.
Moriah’s Instagram Activity
Moriah uses Instagram for a purpose
Moriah She is very strategic with what she shows on Instagram. Currently, Moriah only has one photo, which she recently dropped. It’s a carousel of two images debuting her new shoulder-length black curly hair. What’s most telling is her caption, which is a black heart emoji next to a key emoji. Moriah also toots her own horn in her biography, but does so in a strange way. She has a link to her new song on YouTube in her bio, but she wrote a self-serving note about it.
“You can listen to my new song RUN if you want… but you don’t have to if you don’t want to, I’ve linked it below just in case.”
I think it’s obvious that Moriah likes to maintain enough nonchalance with her Instagram image. It seems like she’s trying to serve a purpose. Furthermore, I felt that Moriah uses her Instagram to interact Welcome to Plathville just enough fans that there is still interest in what she has going on, but not enough to reveal too much about her personal life.
Moriah also disabled comments on her only post, which speaks to her sensitive nature. For me, Moriah’s Instagram activity is meant to keep her relevant without revealing too much, perhaps because another Welcome to Plathville the season is on its way. His activity also denotes his fragile personality, but affinity for seeking influence.
What Moriah’s TikTok Activity Means for Matthew Craven’s Relationship
Moriah gives clues
The ex who broke Moriah’s heart in Season 6 was identified in the season finale as Tampa, Florida, musician and religious personality, Matthew Craven. In the end, Moriah announced to the Plath family that she is back with him, despite the toxicity that existed between the pair with Matthew’s supposed isolation and Moriah’s gaslighting. Regarding their post-show relationship, it turns out that Moriah hinted in July 2024 about their relationship status when she placed a black heart emoji on Matthew’s TikTok video performing one of his songs.
Moriah is very inactive on TikTok and I think she uses it more as a spectator of Matthew’s content. Since Moriah has already hinted at her connection to Matthew, watching how she relates to his content in the future could be very revealing. I don’t think Moriah is over Matthew yet, and his TikTok activity in the future could give insight into her feelings towards him. That, or she wants Welcome to Plathville fans notice her activity with him.
It is calculated
I’m sure Moriah uses her social media with intention. As the most dramatic Welcome to Plathville cast member, I believe she is calculated in what and how much she shares.
The more interest Moriah maintains, the more screen time she’ll likely have on the show.
Since she has aspirations as a musician, I think it’s obvious that she uses social media to gain influence and increase interest in her personal and love life.
