Jovi Dufren and Yara Zaya’s recent sighting suggests they could be part of a new 90 Day Fiance spin-off, which I don’t think is a good idea. Jovi and Yara first appeared in 90 Day Fiance Season 8 and quickly became a popular couple in the franchise. They got married during the season and even filmed a special segment featuring the birth of her daughterMilá. Despite presenting themselves as a happy family on social media, I was surprised to see them on 90 Days: The Last Resort season 1.
Jovi and Yara were introduced in the therapy-focused spinoff, which introduced a new set of marital issues. While watching the season, I noticed several warning signs in the couple’s relationship. Jovi was still struggling with his obsession with strippers and strip clubs and admitted to turning down a job offer closer to home. Meanwhile, Yara confessed to secretly using contraception to avoid having a second child with Jovi. I was worried that the couple wouldn’t be able to resolve their issues. Happily, marriage counseling helped and they concluded the season as a happy couple.
Jovi and Yara were recently spotted filming
Jovi and Yara filmed on the beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Jovi and Yara first appeared in the franchise in 2020, and I’m surprised they’re still relevant in 2024. Now rumors are circulating that they’ll be part of a new spin-off. A Reddit user, @billiloveslouirecently shared a photo of Jovi and Yara filming on the beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with the caption, “Yara and Jovi filming in Fort Lauderdale today.” The Redditor mentioned that Yara looks “wonderful” and Jovi “looks super cool for the whole crew,” adding, “Jovi takes care of their daughter while Yara prepares to film.”
While some Redditors seemed happy about the popular couple’s possible return, I, along with many others, are not. A Reddit user expressed their disinterest in Yara and Jovi by writing, “no more Yara and Jovi, what more could we want to see from them?” Another Reddit user commented, “ughhhh go away already!!! I can’t stand them.” I saw comments from some other fans about not wanting to watch Jovi and Yara in a new 90 Day Fiance spin-off as they became “uninteresting” and probably “manufacturing drama” to keep getting paid.
Jovi’s obsession with strippers is unhealthy
Jovi pressured Yara to stay thin
Although Jovi and Yara are already in the process of filming, I don’t think they should return to the show because they have a problematic relationship. Aside from their lavish lifestyle and picture-perfect family online, what stands out to me are the warning signs indicating problems in your marriage. Despite professing love for his wife, Jovi’s actions speak louder than words as he continues to visit strip clubs, showing a lack of respect for Yara. I was shocked to see him visit a strip club with his 90 Days: The Last Resort co-stars while reportedly working on her marriage through counseling.
While Yara may have her own flaws, I believe Jovi is more controversial. I still remember when Yara opened up last year about her insecurities, revealing how she grew up in a difficult household and was criticized for her physical appearance. Despite struggling with childhood insecurities, Yara did not receive enough support from her husband. In fact, she admitted that Jovi had told her that if she couldn’t maintain her slim figure, he would leave her. Although I think Yara and Jovi are fun, their relationship is too superficial to be featured in a new spin-off.
Jovi and Yara struggle to find common ground about having kids
Yara lied about using birth control I find it hypocritical that Jovi wants Yara to keep her waist thin and at the same time wants to have another child.
During the 90 Day Fiance spin-off, the couple discussed their plans to expand their family, with Yara revealing that she was secretly using birth control to avoid another pregnancy. While I support Yara in making her own decisions, I find it alarming that she kept this information hidden from her husband. This is worrying Jovi and Yara struggle to communicate about these important decisions in their lives, which is why they don’t deserve a secondary appearance.
Yara is accused of disrespecting Jovi’s mother
Yara’s negativity doesn’t deserve a stage to stand on
I think Yara has a friendly relationship with her mother-in-law, Gwen, and they like to film funny skits together. However, I also believe that Yara takes Gwen’s kindness for granted and makes fun of her without remorse her. Yara recently shared a piece about ignoring Gwen and pretending not to speak English.
Netizens like me thought Yara was being disrespectful to Gwen, with one Instagram user commenting: “I told you she’s a NARCISSIST.” Another user wrote, “Yara is so rude to her mother-in-law.” Considering how mean Yara can be, I don’t think she should have a platform to spread negativity.
Jovi and Yara show a perfect life online
Are they manufacturing the drama to appear on TV? Another reason I don’t want to watch Jovi and Yara in another spin-off is because I don’t know if anything in their story is real.
I see them posting photos of happy couples on social media and creating funny skits together. Yet at the same time, I see them go through so many setbacks on the program that they considered marriage counseling. I think any drama Jovi and Yara portray is manufactured, whether by them or the producers. I don’t want to be tricked into watching them when they actually live perfectly happy lives.
I saw recently Yara and Jovi share a parody video imitating their co-stars Shekinah Garner and Sarper Güven. It seems unlikely that a couple with relationship problems would create a parody video, so I suspect that Yara and Jovi are making up stories for the show, which is quite irritating. If a couple is willing to make up false narratives, they shouldn’t get back together to the program and tricking viewers into watching. I hope Yara and Jovi are just filming a short segment and not returning for a 90 Day Fiance spin off.
