Our opinion: a worthwhile bargain
Nintendogs may never come to Switch
Nintendogs was released in 2005 and remains a favorite of many fans to this day. The game allowed players to care for a virtual dog and, in a later edition, cats. There were many breeds available to choose from, and the gameplay was cozy and relaxed, consisting of playing, feeding, bathing, training, and caring for the digital pet. Unfortunately, none of Nintendogs games are available for the Nintendo Switch, making it impossible for gamers without a previous generation console like the Nintendo DS to enjoy it.
The absence of Nintendogs on Switch is likely due to the fact that games director Hideki Konno and his team are busy working on other projects, such as Mario Kart and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Nintendo has been very quiet about whether it has plans to bring a new virtual pet game to the Switch or its next successor, but until then, Little Dog and Cat Friends can fill the gap left in the hearts of many fans. While it's not an exact replacement for Nintendo's previous title, the massive limited-time sale makes it a very worthwhile purchase, especially with no news of Nintendogs coming to current generation Nintendo consoles.
