I see this The Golden Bachelor winner Theresa Nist is trying to stay relevant, but is she still interesting enough to get attention? The Golden Bachelor The first season saw the first senior leader, Gerry Turner, choose from 22 eligible senior women, all competing for his heart. Gerry had a few favorites, but narrowed down his top three to Theresa, Leslie Fhima and Faith Martin, who he hung out with in his hometown. Only Theresa and Leslie attended the fantasy suite dates in Costa Rica, where I watched Gerry surprise Leslie to choose Theresa.
The golden bachelorette season 1, which saw lead Joan Vassos choose between 24 Golden men, just aired, with Joan declaring Chock Chapple her winner. Joan left Gerry Golden Bachelor season early to be there for her daughter, who needed her. Bachelor The nation’s focus has been more on Joan and Chock than on Gerry and Theresa. Theresa hasn’t been on TV since The Golden Bachelor closed November 2023but I believe that doubts remain about its relevance.

The Golden Bachelor season 1 was filmed in August 2023, and Theresa and Gerry were married in The golden wedding on January 4, 2024. The couple was treated to a luxurious Italian honeymoon courtesy of ABC. However, the pair announced their split in April 2024 (via Good morning America), after just three months of marriage. I watched the duo quote issues around not being able to reach an agreement on where to live as the reason for the breakup.
Theresa and Gerry’s breakup was huge for me, as it was for Bachelor The nation’s fans, as I felt they were a strong match and were prepared to contribute to a brilliant reign of Golden Bachelor franchise shows. However, Gerry and Theresa disappointed me with their lack of commitment and unwillingness to reach an agreement. I don’t think they should have gotten married, and Theresa admitted to doing so on the honeymoon that came with it.
I feel strongly that Theresa damaged her reputation as a result of her split from Gerry, but I think she enjoyed the spotlight and the attention.
She’s trying to capitalize on her Golden Bachelorette fame
I witnessed Teresa try to never leave the public eye after your divorce from Gerry. Based on her continued social media activity and tendency to rub her happiness in Gerry’s face, I think Theresa appreciates attention both good and bad. Theresa now has 128,000 followers on Instagram, where she posts about twice a week. I’ve seen her try her hand at being a content creator and influencer, which speaks to her current quest for influence.
Theresa shares posts about her outfits, recipes and cooking methods, and the different ways she stays in shape. What’s more, Theresa shares content with her Golden Single friends, and even made a dance video with Leslie that could be a nod to putting her Dancing with the Stars. Anyway, I look at Theresa’s Instagram, I feel like she’s trying to capitalize on her Golden Single famebut his public popularity may be over.
Is Theresa still relevant?

For me, Theresa was only relevant to reality shows and Bachelor Microscope of the nations fans when The Golden Bachelor was up in the air, and after her divorce, because fans were still interested in which path she would take. Now that it’s been almost a year since her ill-fated marriage, I don’t think she’s interesting anymore. She’s trying to hold on to her fame and her fan baseand although she maintains a large following, I feel that she is not relevant in the broader scope of Bachelor Nation more.
I don’t believe Theresa has been a clout seeker all along, but I do think she appreciates her celebrity status, even though it’s losing popularity now that there are newer, less problematic shows. Bachelor cast members to focus. Theresa only makes headlines these days when she spills tea on podcasts or makes attention-grabbing posts on social media, but in the mainstream, I don’t think she’s that popular. The Golden Bachelor propelled Theresa into the public eye, and I think she enjoyed it, but the interest in her is being replaced by other Bachelor cast members.
