Despite this, the first chapter of the DCU also has room for less extravagant characters, especially those who roam the streets of Gotham.

As Matt Reeves Batman franchise continues to grow with the next Batman – Part II and spin-offs like The penguinthe DCU will soon introduce its own version of Batman and Gotham City. While Batman focuses on the realistic elements of the Dark Knight, the DCU's Batman could put the spotlight on the Caped Crusader's more fantastical stories and characters. After all, Doctor Phosphorus and Clayface are two of Batman's monstrous enemies who already play important roles in the first chapter of the DCU. Batman's oft-forgotten sidekicks will also be making their DCU debut soon.
