I’ve watched Jack Ryan grow over the past four seasons, from CIA analyst to global secret agent. He has proven himself countless times, taking down drug cartels and taking on terrorists and dictators, even putting an end to political corruption in other countries. Being a former soldier himself, Jack Ryan is the perfect person to command the country’s Armed Forces in the series’ universe.

Becoming president is the best ending for Jack Ryan because it’s not a job he wantsbut one he truly deserves. It would also be a unique challenge compared to what he has faced so far.

Jack Ryan can be trusted on national security issues and use his strength in espionage as a political ploy. He can stand up to the harshest rulers and prevent global disasters before they start. A fitting ending to this Jack Ryan the film would be him taking the oath on Inauguration Day. Not only would this be a fitting conclusion to the film, but it would also bring an end to Jack Ryan’s story in this version of the Ryanverse, should no other sequels or spinoffs happen.

The new film needs to follow the Tom Clancy books by making Jack Ryan the commander in chief. Until Ryan’s close-knit circle once mentioned that he should be president. Ryan dismissed his comments, which I took as a huge provocation. In the books, Ryan becomes president for the first time thanks to the deaths of everyone else in line. But he ends up winning the title himself. The Jack Ryan we see wrapping up season 4 is on his way to take a tropical break with his girlfriend Cathy. Knowing Jack Ryan, he can’t sit still for long.
Ryan worked his way up through the CIA, going from analyst to agent to director. He could do the same with the top government job in America.
