Although Devin was a front-runner for Jen’s heart from early on The Bachelorette Season 21, it was clear that he was a villain from early episodes, too. Although there were potentially bigger figures who seemed to be darker or more villainous than Devin, His inability to stay out of the drama of other contestants’ relationships with Jenn was a huge red flag. Devin’s behavior wasn’t something I thought would work for Jen, and when he regained his charm with her, it felt fake.

The switch-up in his personality was disheartening and made me wonder if he was really someone I could see Jen choosing at the end of the season. Although he was charming and charismatic during his time with Jenn himself, I found myself wondering if his drama with the rest of the cast would end up costing him her heart often. Even though Jen may have gotten love bombed by Devin with his excessive praise, It also felt like he wasn’t truly, deeply in love with her The Bachelorette Season 21. Devin often shared that he wanted to leave the show, complained about the other contestants getting time with Jen, and made himself a burden. As someone who seemed like he was hoping to get to know Jen better, Devin’s arguments always struck me the wrong way. It felt like he wasn’t interested in Jen at all, and The Bachelorette Villain all but confirmed as much by the season’s end.
