Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays the Kingpin in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, talks about how a huge plot line was almost revealed to him outside of his arc in Daredevil: Born Again.
At New York Comic Con 2024, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio spoke with Rant Screen himself Joe Deckelmeier to preview the new MCU drama for Disney+. One of the questions for the Kingpin star was whether or not he could see himself acting like the Thanos to street-level heroes like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and even Spider-Man, which D’Onofrio is more than a game to see it happen. However, he also emphasized that there is very little they discover about their MCU arcs outside of Daredevil: Born Againrevealing how a major storyline was almost passed on to him recently, by stating the following:
Vincent D’Onofrio: Yes, I mean all of them. Bring them in, it’s interesting – listening to Charlie’s answers, he’s so spot on. One of the most interesting things about being in the MCU with these characters is that we know very little about what the plan is. I know this may seem strange to people, but it’s true. The other day, we were talking to our writers, and one of them slipped up and said something, and one of the bosses was on Zoom. I was like, ‘What?’ [laughs] and they both said, ‘What?’ This particular boss, who cares a lot about the program, actually said, ‘No, I can’t talk about that right now.’ [I am like] ‘What can’t I talk about? What is happening? If you want to know right away, could it look like something that had to do with something other than our show? I don’t know. I literally have no idea.
More to come…
