I can't get over David Corenswet's first Superman appearance before his DCU film and its Justice League implications

Notice! This article contains SPOILERS for DC's Creature Commandos.David Corenswet's Superman has already entered the DC Universe a few months before his film is released in theaters, and the hero's first appearance could lead to the Justice League. I find James Gunn's DCU plans exciting, with a healthy mix of main characters and more obscure players making up the franchise's first projects. This formula has also been a success for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so I'm interested to see how this plays out as the DCU progresses. That being said, I'm surprised that no Justice League film has been announced yet.

Inevitably, this is where many of the DCU's heroes must head, so it was interesting to see that no Justice League film was a part of it. the list of DCU projects revealed by DC Studios in January 2023. However, DC is making up for the team's absence by including several characters in the franchise's first films and series. This is the case with David Corenswet's Superman film, which features several other DCU heroes. Although we knew about the heroes who would appear in SupermanDC surprised everyone by including Clark Kent in another DCU project before his film.

David Corenswet's Superman has already debuted in the DCU

Man of Steel was the first in animation

Since watching David Corenswet in The politician In 2019, I wanted to see the actor become DC's next Superman. Because of this, I can't wait to see how the star performs as both Clark Kent and Man of Steel when James Gunn's Superman film comes out next year. Fortunately, we don't have to wait that long to get it. our first DCU scene introducing the Man of Steel. I was shocked to see that David Corenswet's Superman debut came in a Creature Commands trailer, and the context of the moment is intriguing.

After the premiere of the first DCU project, a trailer for the remaining episodes in Creature Commands The first season showcased the DCU debuts of David Corenswet's Superman, Teen Titans' Starfire, and John Cena's Peacemaker. The sequence in question is a vision of a possible future shown by Anya Chalotra's Circe. In it, the characters are dead, with Superman crucified. A new trailer for Creature CommandsEpisode 4 has now been released, showing a new part of the sequence. In it, Circe shows Amanda Waller the vision, with Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Hawkgirl, Booster Gold and apparently Damian Wayne's Robin also died.

I'm convinced Creature Commandos are teasing the first Justice League DCU movie

Circe's vision of a dark future is very interesting

While there may not be an announced Justice League movie as of yet, there's no way the team won't come in the future of the DCU. I understand why Gunn might be cutting the team some slack, as the DCEU's Justice League film – and the franchise in general – wasn't the best. Still, I believe that Circe's vision could be of a future that will happen if the Justice League is unsuccessful in stopping a certain threat. The change would be, in some ways, similar to Zack Snyder's Knightmare plans for the DCEU.

Initially, we only had three characters confirmed for the sequel. Now that the number has grown to include characters like Wonder Woman and Supergirl, I'm convinced that even more heroes will be part of the final version of Circe's vision, with at least Batman will also make an appearance. Hawkgirl has been part of different versions of the JLA in the comics, as have most of the characters now revealed to appear in the dream sequence. With the presence of Wonder Woman and Superman, it looks like the first DCU project is teasing the story of the Justice League's debut.

I believe the Justice League movie will close chapter one of the DCU

There are more DCU projects to be announced

I was excited to finally get an update on the status of the Justice League in the DCU recently. James Gunn confirmed that the team does not yet exist. This makes sense. Gunn is creating a new universe that feels lived in, with heroes operating in it for some time, but allowing fans to get their first look at its major crossovers, like the Justice League coming together for the first time. After the DCU Chapter One projects created a Justice League - characters like Amanda Waller, Peacemaker, Superman, Rick Flag Sr. and More Connect to Various Projects - a team film could put an end to this.

When announcing the first DCU films and series, Gunn revealed that they represented less than half of the total DCU Chapter One projects.

It would be poetic if the final film of DCU Chapter One made up for the vision of the franchise's first release. Something Gunn said when announcing the first projects in the new DC Universe also contributes to the reasons I believe Justice League will come during the first chapter of the franchise. When announcing the first DCU films and series, Gunn revealed that they represented less than half of the total DCU Chapter One projects. So, based on all the teasing we have right now, I think the Justice League closes this chapter.

Justice League

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by the Man of Steel's selfless act in Batman V SupermanBruce Wayne counts on the help of his new ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. The forces of evil have set their sights on our world, tasking the malevolent Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons with bringing Earth under the control of Darkseid, ruler of the planet Apokolips. In response, Batman and Wonder Woman unite a team of metahuman heroes, including The Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman, to protect humanity as the Justice League. The Justice League first appeared in March 1960 in issue #28 of the magazine. The brave and the bold. In the fifty years since the heroes first United, the team welcomed several members of the DC comics canon: Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Shazam, among others. Recently rebooted as part of DC Rebirth, the current comic iteration of the team includes Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, two Green Lanterns (Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz), Aquaman, Barry Allen, as well as Cyborg.
