Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Superman & Lois season 4, episode 8.Superman and Lois I just made a big fake out in its last episode, and I was surprised by the Lex Luthor twist from the DC series. Superman and Lois season 4 has been spectacular so farand I believe a large part of that is due to Michael Cudlitz’s performance as Lex. Although the actor entered the series in two episodes at the end of the 3rd season, he becomes the main villain of Superman and Lois cast of season 4, practically responsible for all the other enemies that appeared in the final season of the series.
Cudlitz’s Lex Luthor poses a threat like no other to Tyler Hoechlin’s Man of Steel. Not only is he as smart and cunning as Luthor is known, but this version of the character is also a physical threat to Superman, which I’m convinced made him one of the best live-action versions of Lex Luthor. Superman and Lois season 4 already saw Clark Kent exchange blows with Lex in Smallvillethanks to the solar-powered red streetlights, making the fight fair. Although Clark won that encounter, a rematch is on the way and a fake sets everything up.
Superman & Lois’ Suit Fakeout Season 4 Episode 8 Makes Its Ending Even Better
Lex Luthor gets a “killer suit”
Superman and Lois season 4, episode 8, brings more shocking twists than the final season of the DC series has become accustomed to delivering with each episode. This time around, that included what appears to be the debut of the show’s version of Brainiac, the reveal that Superman will lose his powers eventually and likely die sooner than expected, and Lex Luthor’s main power. The latter is responsible for the episode’s big false moment. At the beginning of episode 8, Amanda McCoy’s killer suit line has Lex stepping out in a regular tailored suit.
However, the line would take on a whole new meaning later on. Nikolai Witschl debuted in Superman and Lois like Milton – presumably Brainiac. The mysterious character had only been mentioned before, but this time Milton appeared to help Lex Luthor in an important way. After pretending to have an accident to lure Steel and Starlight, Milton later hacks their suits, which leads to Starlight’s destruction and Steel’s theft. At the end of the episode, the steel suit is repurposed into Lex’s battle suit when he says, “Now that’s a kolder suit.” Forgery creates a satisfying ending.
Lex Suit Fakeout from Superman and Lois Really Almost Got Me
An earlier reveal took away some of the surprise
I liked the most recent one Superman and Lois season 4 forgery. However, it would have been more effective if the series hadn’t shown us that Lex Luthor would receive a power upgrade before it actually happened in the series. What I mean by this is that Michael Cudlitz’s Lex Luthor was shown getting a version of his battle suit in Superman and Lois‘mid-season trailer. The latest episode of the DC series revealed that Milton is making some modifications to the costume to better serve Lex against Superman, but the trailer revealed that it would be Steel’s repurposed costume.
That being said, the Lex Luthor spoof partially got me. I was surprised when the episode took a turn for the worse for the heroes and I saw Milton hack Steel and Starlight’s costumes. Based on how most of episode 8 revolves around Lex Luthor and Lois Lane’s debate – which had a moderator who stole the show in the form of The FlashTom Cavanagh as Gordon Godfrey – I totally forgot about the “killer suit“comment and its implications. As such, I was somewhat surprised when Milton hacked Steel’s suit and gave it to Lex. I just wish it had been a complete surprise.
I can’t wait to see how Lex Luthor’s steel suit changes things for the end of Superman & Lois
Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman Is Heading For A Dark Fate
I’m excited to see Lex Luthor and Superman fighting now under different circumstances, but it’s also a big cause for concern. Superman and Lois Season 4, Episode 8 revealed that not only is Clark losing his powers, which will one day disappear permanently, but his body is also deteriorating because General Sam Lane’s human heart is not compatible with his Kryptonian body. As such, I can’t think of a time in the series where Superman was in a more weakened state. It turns out that this is how he will get into a fight with an empowered Lex Luthor.

Clark and Lex have fought before in Season 4, with a red, sun-affected Clark still defeating Luthor. However, now that Lex is in the Steel suit and is angrier after losing his daughter again, things don’t look so good for the Man of Steel. John Henry Irons won’t be able to fight Lex without his suit, and the same goes for Nat. Although they have Superman’s powers, Jonathan and Jordan Kent don’t have the experience to defeat Lex. However, if Tyler Hoechlin’s Man of Steel manages to beat Lex under these conditions, then Superman and Lois will have an epic ending.
Superman and Loisthe Arrowverse’s seventh spinoff series, will take the titular characters from Metropolis to Smallville. The CW series is set after the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover, which saw the collapse of the multiverse and the merging of worlds on what is now Earth Prime. Superman and Lois sees Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) and Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) dealing with all the pressures of their jobs, as well as being parents to two teenage children. Lois and Clark are no strangers to the Arrowverse, with Hoechlin’s Superman having been introduced way back when. Supergirl season 2. Meanwhile, Tulloch’s Lois made her debut in 2018’s “Elseworlds” crossover. The pair are joined by a growing cast of characters that includes a new iteration of Lana Lang.
