I can't believe Sony's Spider-Man universe ended so soon after making the first movie we've been waiting for 6 years to be possible

Notice! This post contains SPOILERS for Kraven the Hunter

Sony's Spider-Man universe took more than six years to create its promised crossover film, Six Sinistersand it was already too late for the Marvel villain team-up movie. from Sony Six Sinisters the film had been in the works since before The Amazing Spider-Man 2 arrived in theaters in 2014. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 introduced several villains and teased the eventual introduction of several others, and went so far as to add a credits tease of Sony's original Sinister Six lineup: Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Rhino, Vulture, Kraven the Hunter, and Mysterio.

Sony's first plans for a Six Sinisters the film failed when The Amazing Spider-Man 2 did not live up to expectations. Ten years later, Morbius, Lady Teiaand Kraven the HunterDismal reviews and poor box office results appear to have forced Sony to put its Marvel film franchise, “Sony's Spider-Man Universe,” on indefinite hold. Sony's second attempt at Six Sinisters film once again failed. What's worse, the SSU Six Sinisters was just beginning to take shape in Kraven the Hunter.

Kraven the Hunter Created an Animal-Themed Sinister Six

Kraven the Hunter put together the Sinister Six movie lineup

In Kraven the HunterAleksei Sytsevich is able to transform into the massive Rhino by removing the serum that keeps his power in check. According to Aleksei, a doctor in New York cured his chronic illness, but gave him this monstrous side effect in the process. Likewise, Kraven's brother Dmitri went to the same doctor in Kraven the Hunterfinal, developing shape-shifting abilities that earned him the nickname “Chameleon”. The doctor who gives the Rhino and Chameleon their powers is Miles Warren, aka Jackal.who also transforms into an anthropomorphic animal in the comics.

Venom, Morbius, and Kraven have little in common in Sony's Spider-Man universe, and they have no Spider-Man to fight together. The introduction of the Jackal, on the other hand, connects several superhumans with sinister motivations to each other. Both Rhino and Chameleon want power after spending their entire lives feeling weaker than a normal human being. In a hypothetical future issue, Dr. Miles Warren could have gathered four other patients with the same motivations and created a team of animal-themed supervillains. This team could have been composed of Rhinoceros, Chameleon, Lizard, Worm, Wolfman and Sauron, for example.

Sony's Spider-Man universe took a long time to make good use of its source material

A big complaint about Poison, Morbiusand Lady Teiawas the disappointing number of well-known Marvel characters. Villains like Riot, Milo, and Ezekiel Sims apparently weren't captivating enough to warrant their own stories, so Sony's Spider-Man universe spent more than six years focusing on characters that didn't capture the public's attention as other anti-heroes and villains might have done. It wasn't until Kraven the Hunter that Sony's Spider-Man Universe began featuring high-profile Spider-Man enemies such as Rhino and Chameleon. Unfortunately, Kraven the Hunter took advantage of the source material too late.

If Kraven the Hunter had already been released Poisonmay have been unaffected by the franchise's poor word of mouth, and its Sinister Six settings could have been fleshed out in subsequent installments. Instead of turning to lesser-known characters like El Muerto and Hypno Hustler for future projects, Sony could have fast-tracked spinoff films for Rhino, Chameleon, and other potential animal-themed Sinister Six members like the Lizard and Wolfman.

Sony's Sinister Six Had Its Spider-Man Replacement All Along

Kraven the Hunter Could Have Been the Sinister Six's Enemy in Sony's Spider-Man Universe

Another big issue regarding the Sinister Six of Sony's Spider-Man Universe was their antagonist, as the team is always formed to fight Spider-Man in the comics. Without Spider-Man in the SSU and most of the SSU characters becoming anti-heroes instead of villains, Sony's Sinister Six had even less reason to join forces. However, If Sony's Sinister Six were an animal-themed team assembled by Dr. Miles Warren, then their ideal enemy might have been Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Kraven the Hunter – an animal-hunting anti-hero who earned his nickname for his quest to kill criminals like the Rhino.

Kraven the Hunter's role as the enemy of the Sinister Six in Sony's Spider-Man Universe could have done justice to Kraven's most popular comic book storyline, Kraven's Last Hunt. Although Kraven probably wouldn't have met Spider-Man in Six Sinistershe could have developed the same obsession with hunting increasingly dangerous targets that he has in the source material. The Sinister Six would have given Kraven more than a few reasons to hunt them down, but Kraven's sense of self-control could have been at play, just like in Marvel Comics. Kraven's Last Hunt.
