Hulk vs Wolverine Revealed the Only Way Marvel’s Strongest Hero Can Truly Damage Adamantium

In Marvel Comics, the Hulk

and Wolverine
are brutal heroes who have difficulty controlling their wilder, more monstrous sides, both having extreme anger issues that (mostly) help more than they hurt while fighting on the field. Crossing paths and exchanging blows more than once on the page, one Battle between Hulk and Wolverinein particular, it revealed a way in which the Hulk could reliably damage adamantium – and it’s not for the faint of heart.

Famous fight with Wolverine in Logan’s 1974 comic book debut Incredible Hulk #180-181by Len Wein and Herb Trimpe, Hulk and Wolverine have a long history of defeating each other, with Hulk’s strength, Wolverine’s claws, and their similar healing factors always guaranteeing a fight for the ages.

Dealing with a version of Bruce Banner living inside Hulk’s head who wants nothing more than to trap him for a “greater plan”, it isn’t long before Hulk crosses paths with The Thing and Wolverine, with the pair teaming up. to tame Hulk first. its destructive violence worsens. Grabbing Logan by the arm at the start of the battle, Hulk uses his immense strength to turn Wolverine’s attack against him, forcibly pushing Logan’s claws directly into his foreheadpiercing his adamantium-coated skull and causing real damage to Wolverine in a way that a simple powerful punch could not.

Illustrated in an oddly specific close-up below, the holes in Wolverine’s head clearly show that part of his metal skull has broken off, proving that all the Hulk needs to destroy the adamantium is a violent push with a pointy piece of it. While it doesn’t technically damage Wolverine’s adamantium bones through brute force alone, Hulk having enough strength to literally shove Wolverine’s signature weapon through his reinforced body is an inventive way for Hulk to fight this notoriously difficult to defeat. while also adding a layer of brutality to the fight in a very Hulk-like way.

While it is not unreasonable to assume that Hulk would have pieces of sharp adamantium readily available to replicate his success in damaging Wolverine’s fortified body as seen here, it is also proven in official Marvel continuity that Hulk is capable of breaking, bending and even shattering adamantium with his bare handswith the addition of an adamantium weapon only helping Hulk effectively and efficiently combat any enemy sheathed in that substance. Hulkstrength alone is an invaluable asset to the character, and when used in conjunction with some sort of adamantium-tinted tool, it is more than enough to take down any threat, Wolverine included.
