If a detail of Cobra Kai The Season 6 Part 2 trailer is any indication, the showdown for Sekai Taikai’s finale could be completely unexpected. In most tournaments presented in The Karate Kid franchise, the identities of the wrestlers in the finals aren’t really hard to guess. An exception to this was the men’s division in Season 4’s All-Valley Karate Tournament, which went to Robby and Hawk (not Miguel). The series reached this confrontation through a surprising twist in Miguel’s story, and now there’s a good chance that a similar twist will occur in Season 6’s second batch of episodes.
Apparently, 16 different teams will fight in Sekai Taikai, with its fighters participating in team events and individual competitions. While the mere fact of being there is a testament to the skill of each participating dojo, it makes sense to assume from the history of the franchise that Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai will be the last teams standing. This may be true for individual competitions, but may not be the case for team matchups. Cobra Kai has on the horizon. It appears that at least one of the other 14 dojos will follow the tournament until the end.
Cobra Kai suggests another Dojo could beat Sekai Taikai
It looks like Cobra Kai or Miyagi-Do will be eliminated before the end of the team events
At several points in the trailer, “Elimination Round 2” can be seen on the screen behind the teenage characters. Each time, members of the Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do teams can be seen fighting. The The implication here is that Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do will not be in the finals of this key branch of the event. Instead, it looks like they will face each other in one of the first rounds of the tournament. This would be contrary to the usual formula of Miyagi-Do vs. franchise’s Cobra Kai, but it would also allow the tournament to offer some genuine surprises.
It also raises the possibility of this third party taking his place (or Cobra Kai’s) in the finals and beating Sekai Taikai completely.
Granted, this development will likely have no impact on the individual competitions, which are still expected to end with Robby vs. Kwon and Sam vs. What happens, however, is the Miyagi-Do or Cobra Kai Sekai Taikai team falls by the wayside when the team’s events come to an end. This could be very important, especially if Miyagi-Do losing the team events means that Robby and Sam will have to win their competitions in order for the dojo to take home the championship. It also raises the possibility of this third party taking his place (or Cobra Kai’s) in the finals and beating Sekai Taikai completely.
Iron Dragons are probably the next biggest threat to Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do no Sekai Taikai
How dangerous are Iron Dragons to Miyagi-Do’s chances of beating Sekai Taikai?
If it is true that Cobra Kai or Miyagi-Do will have to face a different team in the finals of the team competition, the Iron Dragons dojo appears to be the strongest candidate for this role. Marketing for Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 really emphasized the importance of Lewis Tan’s Sensei Wolf character, whose dojo logo identifies him as the head of the Iron Dragons. One of his fighters taking down Tory was an indication that, for the first time in the series, the villains can’t just focus on defeating Miyagi-Do. They also have other concerns; Worrying too much about your rivals could pave the way for someone else to win the championship.
Set decades after the events of the Karate Kid franchise, Cobra Kai changes direction and puts viewers in the perspective of a former rival/antagonist, Johnny Lawrence. In his 50s and down on his luck, a chance encounter with a bullied young man leads Johnny back to Karate. Agreeing to help him, Johnny takes the opportunity to revive his old home, the Cobra Kai dojo – becoming a haven for outcast teenagers.
