With the introduction of Point Hope to Phasmophobia In mid-2024, developer Kinetic Games included a complex puzzle that encourages players to turn on the lighthouse flashlight and receive a hidden ID card and badge to customize their profile. Since its launch in early access in 2020, Phasmophobia received several additional maps to help you hunt ghosts, including the Prison and Sunny Meadows Asylum. The latest map is unlike anything in the game so far. With ten stories stacked vertically, the Point Hope Lighthouse in Phasmophobia offers new ghost hunting challenges - and new secrets to discover.
In PhasmophobiaRewards for completing holiday events, prestige, and contributing to game development often include a new ID card and badge. Identification cards in Phasmophobia allows players to set their character model and voice chat levels of other players and see each player's name, platform and level. Badges can be equipped with an ID card to display the player's role in the game. Celebrating the release of the new map, if players can solve the lantern puzzle in Point Hope in Phasmophobiathey will receive a new identification card and badge that calls them the Boatman of the Drowned.
How to Get Point Hope Hidden ID Card and Badge
Complete the puzzle to unlock a new style
To solve the Point Hope Lighthouse puzzle in Phasmophobia and unlock the Drowned Boatman's ID card and badge, players will need to begin an investigation on the Point Hope map. Since identifying the ghost and completing the investigation is unnecessary, it might be a good idea to create a custom difficulty in which the ghost never hunts and the circuit breaker starts turning on so there is enough light to see around the map. However, for more experienced ghost hunters, the puzzle can be completed during an active ghost investigation on any of the existing difficulty levels.
Almost everything needed to complete the Phasmophobia The Point Hope puzzle can be found inside the lighthouse itself. However, players will want to have a UV lamp in their equipment as it is a necessary piece of equipment to complete the puzzle. The level level does not matter, as all three UV lamps offered in the in-game store will work. Players will also need at least one empty inventory slot.
Step 1: Play a game of pool
Once in Point Hope, equipped with a UV lamp, navigate to the fourth floor of the lighthouse. This is a games room and players can find a pool table on the other side of the stairs. On the wall next to the stairs, notice the three paintings of shells that seem a little out of place with the rest of the decor. From left to right, the shells are green, blue and orange. This is the first clue and corresponds to which colored balls players will need to sink into the holes on the pool table and in what order.
It is not necessary to use a cue, although there are some in the room. Instead, using their empty inventory slot, players can pick up each pool ball in color order (default AND on PC) and play it into any of the holes (default G on PC). For best results, try throwing the ball into a hole on the other side of the table and aim slightly upward to ensure it catches enough air.
If this puzzle step is completed correctly, players will hear a jingle and find the Flashlight cabinet key in the ball box on the pool table. They will need to take the key to the next step. Similar to car keys in Phasmophobia Small House maps, the Lantern Cabinet Key will appear in the player's Journal next to the building key.
Step 2: Repair the flashlight housing gears
Then go up to the eighth floor of Point Hope, which looks like a workshop. Players can find equipment resting on a cabinet next to the workbench with all the brushes and behind the can of red paint spilled on the floor. They will need to grab their equipment and climb another flight of stairs to the ninth floor. Around the staircase, creating a dead end, is a locked wooden cabinet with rusty equipment on top.
Open the case with the key obtained in the first step of the puzzle and insert the gear into the empty slot. The two gears should start to rotate and make three clicks.
Step 3: Ring the doorbell
Then go down the stairs to the first floor and exit the building. On the way in, there is a large bell in front of Point Hope. Players will need to ring this bell three times individually. To ring the bell, approach and press the Primary use button (default left click on PC). A hissing sound will indicate that this step was performed correctly.
Step 4: Turn on the lamp
Finally, climb back to the top of Point Hope, the tenth floor, and go out onto the balcony. From this vantage point in the distance, beyond the truck, players should see the source of the whistle from the previous stage: a fire near some rocks lighting up the letters "ultraviolet" written in the sand.
Back at the lighthouse building, shine the UV lamp on the giant lantern in the center of the room until it turns purple and continues to glow. Then step outside to see UV-illuminated bodies floating in the water, illuminated by flashlight light. This effect will remain until players leave the game.
When you return to the lobby, a notification will appear with the message, Level up! Unlocks: Boatman of the Drowned. To choose To accept to close the pop-up and return to the game.
How to change motifs on ID cards and badges
Change styles in the main menu or lobby
Like other Phasmophobia ID card and badge motifs that players can receive for reaching higher prestige levels or completing seasonal events, there are no game advantages to unlock the Point Hope Ferryman of the Drowned Hidden ID card and badge.
Instead, it's a purely cosmetic enhancement that players can toggle on and off as desired. This also applies to the floating corpse effect in Point Hope, which does not affect the investigation.
To equip the Drowned Boatman's ID card and badge, select the bulletin board from the main menu or in the game lobby and choose the Edit button in the top right corner of your player ID card.
Scroll through the options in Special Emblems to find and select Boatman of the Drowned. So, under the ID Card Themeto choose Boatman of the Drowned. Press the X in the corner of the ID card to apply the changes and close the Edit menu.
Special badges and ID card themes typically appear in the Edit menu in the order they were unlocked.
There is also a second Point Hope-related ID card and badge reward at Phasmophobia. However, to earn it, players will not need to solve a puzzle. Instead, they will simply need Play Point Hope and identify the ghost correctly 50 individual times. This will unlock the special lighthouse keeper emblem and ID card theme.
