How to sign out of Netflix on every device, from smart TV to tablet

Now this Netflix is cracking down on account sharing, there’s never been a better time to learn exactly how to log out of a Netflix account on your TV, tablet, or whatever else is being used to watch the streaming app. Netflix has gone through some ups and downs in recent months and even some loyal users have canceled the streaming platform. However, the streamer is still one of the oldest in the game and Netflix still has a comparatively high number of subscribers compared to its competitors.

However, just because the streaming platform offers a large library of original and curated movies and TV shows doesn’t mean users will want to be constantly connected. With Netflix’s new account sharing policy in place, many people are probably wondering how they can log out of a Netflix account. Whether it’s a TV in their parents’ house, one they gave to a friend, or simply because they want only one TV in their home to be their “Netflix” viewing area, there are simple steps to log out of any screen a user is logged in to.

How to sign out of Netflix on your Smart TV

To exit Netflix on a smart TV like LG, Sony, Samsung and others, users must go to the home screen or wherever they usually go to click on their apps. Sometimes this works by simply turning on the TV, but clicking the “home” button (which may be a picture of a house) on the remote should also work. Clicking the “back” or “return” button on the remote until the screen does not change should also take the user to the home screen.

Find Netflix on your home screen and click on it. From the app, Users can go to “Account Settings” which is at the top of the screen next to a magnifying glass icon (the search icon). The account settings icon looks like a cog or cog. Select the account settings icon and look through the options with your remote to get to “Sign Out.” Click on it and the user should log out of the Netflix account.

Signing out of Netflix on a phone or tablet is very similar to doing it on a smart TV. All you have to do is find the Netflix app wherever it is. It’s black with a big red capital “N”. Click on the application and wait for it to load. Once it finishes charging, find the “My Netflix” button in the bottom right corner that looks like a smiley face. Tap it and then tap the menu button in the top right corner. It looks like three parallel horizontal lines. Tap the exit button and tap “exit” again to confirm.
