Fortnite The new Day of Doom mode is now available for all players to try out, and it’s a great way to complete quests and earn XP. The new limited-time mode (LTM) takes inspiration from Marvel comics, pitting teams of heroes and villains against each other with players wielding iconic items from Marvel lore. However, Day of Doom is not easy to get to.
Day of Doom is just the latest mode to come from Fortnite And Marvel’s extremely cool collaboration: a 16v16 mode where players are split into two teams: Allies of the Avengers and Doom’s Henchmen. Because it’s a limited-time mode, players can access it from the main lobby screen and jump in from there. Day of Doom has its own custom rules, victory conditions and more.
How to play Fortnite’s Day of Doom mode
Ally with the Avengers or join Doctor Doom’s army of henchmen
Players in Day of Doom are divided into two teams: Doom’s Henchmen and the allies of the Avengers.
To win, Doom’s Henchmen must collect six arcane artifacts, which periodically spawn from the sky and come crashing down on the Fortnite Island. The player who manages to collect an arcane artifact becomes one of Doom’s Chosen, donning the armor of the Marvel supervillain and wielding his powers against enemy players.
in common Fortnite Matches, becoming Doom’s Chosen effectively makes a player nearly invulnerable. However, because Day of Doom is a team-based mode, Doom’s Chosen is much more vulnerable to team-based assaults.
Doom’s Chosen can wield powers such as Scorch Beam, a powerful sustained beam weapon that deals high damage to players and structures alike, and Mystic Gigabomb, an AoE blast attack. If Doom’s Chosen is killed, another player will be randomly selected to take up the mantle.
As one of Doom’s Henchmen, players also unlock a specific loadout:
-
Doctor Doom’s Arcane Gauntlets
-
Medium-quality combat assault rifle
-
Shockwave grenade
-
Monarch Pistol and Sovereign Shotgun are collected by the team after one and two Arcane Artifacts, respectively.
Once all six Arcane Artifacts are collected, players on the hero team cannot respawn. To win, Doom’s Henchmen must simply eliminate any remaining players.
As such, the Avengers’ allies must stop Doom’s Henchmen from collecting the arcane artifacts. To win, they must score enough eliminations. Doom’s Henchmen team only has a limited number of responses, and once they run out, the Avengers will win. To aid in battle, players have access to four different loadouts, each based on a different Marvel hero:
Essentially, Doom’s Henchmen must collect all the arcane artifacts, while the Avengers’ allies must stop them and score enough eliminations to win. Day of Doom is a rather fun deviation from typical Fortnite Play and provide a more team-oriented experience with guaranteed access to many of the best items and weapons of this season.
Based on my experience in two rounds of Doomsday, this mode is quite a chaotic firefight, with many powerful superhero items and supervillain powers. The only real tactic for winning involves being careful Tracking each arcane artifact as it falls from the sky, securing its location immediately by flooding it with allies, and building and rebuilding structures To physically prevent the enemy team from accessing it.
Unfortunately, the fight seems to be slightly balanced against the Avengers at the moment, as it is still difficult to stop one of Doom’s Chosen. However, playing Doomsday is quite useful for completing challenges and unlocking accolades for Battle Pass XP, making it a great and fun way to level up. Fortnite Battle pass.
