Unlocking abilities in Star Wars Outlaws Involves tracking down each expert character and completing tasks in-game. Most of these involve using Kay’s abilities such as knocking out enemies with melee; However, there are other slightly sillier requirements such as making Nix happy to unlock the treasure hunter ability. Luckily, Nicks gets jealous quite easily.

How to annoy your helpful little companion
Kay must pet another animal to make Nix jealous while Nix is nearby. Kay can give Nix some friendly pets almost anywhere, and they clearly share a close bond. As such, petting another animal will sometimes make Nick jealous. He will typically show jealousy by turning his back on Kay, and Kay may even ask him to “play nice.”

There are quite a few different animals that Kay can pet on the various planets featured in star wars outlaws, But petting any of them should be enough to make Nicks jealous.
To find animals, keep an eye out for animals roaming near the pier while exploring. Any animals that can be pets will have a UI prompt indicating that Kay can give them a friendly scratch. Even when exploring Toshara, I managed to easily find animals in Jaunta’s Hope and in the wildlands outside the settlement. As such, it shouldn’t be too difficult to find creatures to pet.
To unlock the Feels Out challenge, Kay must meet Rooster Trace on Kijimi and complete her quests. Once complete, Rooster is referred to as the Mercenary in menus.
Completing Feels Out also requires Kay to:
-
Use Nix to fetch a weapon, grenade and bacta vial three times.
-
Complete a thieving contract without being detected.
Neither objective is particularly challenging, as Kay has a strong set of abilities and equipment for a stealth approach. In return for completing the objectives and making Nicks jealous, players can unlock Feels Out. This doubles the distance of Nix Sense, allowing Nix to detect and mark enemies for Kay at a much longer range.
While Feels Out is not necessarily one of the best abilities in Star Wars OutlawsIt’s still very useful, especially if players favor a stealth approach.
