Divinity: Original Sin 2 encourages you to collect as many items as possible because they never know when they’ll need them, and the Vulture Armor set is gear worth purchasing. The mission involving the Vulture Armor in Divinity 2 is called “Keep calm and carrion,” and there are five pieces of armor to collect.
Vulture Armor is great for any ranged character who uses Finesse. It also works well for Divinity 2 rogues – but first, you’ll need to find a book titled Dwarf Customs and Traditions. That’s it located inside Judge Orivand’s office in Fort Joy. The book explains how to start crafting Vulture Armor.
How to get the Vulture Armor Set
Defeat the powerful equipment guardian
The next part of “Keep calm and carrion“takes place on Reaper’s Coast, specifically at the coordinates X:218, Y:33. You will need to create Source Infused Meat by combining Raw Mutton, Source Orb and Earth Essence. Offering it to Mordus’ excavation site summons Dune’s Undertaker.
When Duna’s Undertaker is summoned, you can defeat this character to obtain the Vulture Armorbut this is easier said than done. This opponent summons Decaying Dwarves (Undead) to fight alongside him, making this fight very challenging. Each enemy summoned in this fight possesses powerful lightning-based abilities and magic, which can shock your team to death if you’re not prepared.
It is recommended that your party is at least level 15 if you want to fight Duna’s Undertaker and his minions. You should also investigate the Mordus Excavation Site before challenging the Undertaker, as this arena has many environmental quirks that both sides can take advantage of.
Eliminating Duna’s Undertaker and his minions will give your party Cursed Vulture Feathersthe crafting item needed to make the Vulture armor Divinity 2. Dropping the feathers on the ground and casting Bless eliminates the curse, but you can also bless the Vulture’s armor later, after it has been crafted and equipped.
You will need to combine Vulture Feathers, cursed or not, with pieces of leather armor to make Divinity 2 Vulture set. Parts include:
- The vulture’s claws (boots)
- The vulture’s legs (leggings)
- The Vulture’s Cloak (chest armor)
- The Mask of the Vulture (helmet)
- The vulture’s claws (gloves)
While you can mix and match pieces, having the full set gives you unique buffs, including permanent flying, +4m vision on all ranged attacks, immunity to blindness, bonus damage on hit, and the Vulture’s Prayer and Dust Blast abilities. While the Vulture Armor set isn’t technically the best armor in Divinity: Original Sin 2Its unique buffs and innate powers make it worth acquiring.
How to put on Vulture Armor peacefully in Act 2
Avoid a dangerous fight by saying the right words
It is possible to avoid fighting Dune’s Undertaker when trying to achieve this Divinity 2 armor! Instead of starting a fight, you can choose to appease the Undertaker carrying out specific actions. These actions are described in an excerpt from the Dwarf Customs and Traditions book you originally found in Fort Joy, giving a clue to make Undertaker trust your group.
The excerpt from the Dwarven Customs Book is in the Witch House north of Driftwood at X:367, Y:227. He will tell you what actions you need to take to appease the Dune Undertaker and in what order. When speaking and interacting with Duna’s Undertaker, select these dialogue options:
- “Tell the creature that you are here to receive this blessing.”
- “Bend over with arms outstretched.”
- “Silently request his blessing.”
- “Say you intend to save the souls of the fallen.”
If this is done correctly, your party will receive blessed vulture feathers. These items can also be incorporated into the Vulture’s armor set, only this time without the Curse, as they have already been cleansed of any dark magic. Given the power of the Vulture’s full armor installed Divinity: Original Sin 2this method is much easier to do in Act 2, as you can get the armor without winning an extremely difficult battle.
