Slap seven for Baldur’s Gate 3 is finally here, and the devs at Larian have cooked up a nice treat for those of you who like to get a little more evil. With this patch, they’ve added several different endings that explore the options you have as the ruler of Faerun. Will you slay the world in the name of Bhal, or take the future of the world into your own hands?

Which endings are available to you differs depending on a few things, like whether you use the illithid tadpoles you collect throughout the game. The Bhaal endings are limited to Dark Urge characters who have accepted their parent’s plan for their lives, but there are also new evil options for normal Tavs. The cherry on top is that not only the PC origin character, Durge, has a new evil ending, but also each of the other origin characters.
New evil endings for Tav in Baldur’s Gate 3
Now you can indulge in cruelty as you rule all of Faerun
For any of us who have played at Wicked, you must have seen “In My Name”. Evil ending, in which you dominate the Netherbrain and take its power to become the absolute. This was the only true evil ending to the game until patch seven, which introduced a few new cutscenes and choices that give your evil run a little extra flavor. The first “section” of new ending cutscenes come if you choose to take the power of the Netherbrain for yourself, abandoning Orpheus or the Emperor in order to do so. Once you defeat whatever Illith you have with you, you’ll have a few choices about how your rule over Faerun will go. Here are your options as TAV:
-
Resist ceremorphosis and conquer the world, with the army of the absolute at your command.
-
Resist ceremorphosis and brainwash the citizens of Balaldur’s Gate to live in mindless bliss, working at your behest to rebuild the city as a sanctuary to his new ruler.
-
Resist Ceremorphosis and command all Baldur’s Gate to die.
-
Resist Ceremorphosis and command the citizens of Baldur’s Gate to slaughter one another.
-
Surrender to ceremorphosis and command the citizens of Baldur’s Gate to ingest tadpoles, building the armies of the Mindfliers.
Ingesting tadpoles throughout your playthrough will make resisting ceremorphosis harder, so make sure you’re ready for the CON save before making any decisions.
If you choose to rule the world without the Emperor or Orpheus taking control of the Netherbrain, these are your options. However; You can also choose to allow the Emperor to sit on the throne, ruling by his side as his right hand. If you get cold feet, you can also choose to try to kill the Emperor, but you will quickly be stopped and killed.
New evil endings for the dark urge
The world is drowning in blood, but who will die first?
The new Durge cutscene is truly dramatic and emphasizes Bhaal’s plan for the world: to see it drenched in blood, with no living creature left. To get the ending, you’ll need to follow Bhaal’s teachings throughout the game, killing the Skleritas that beg you and not resisting your murderous urge. Once you reach the ending, you’ll have two choices, though which one you choose only slightly changes the ending you get.
Choice |
ending |
---|---|
Kill your party on your father’s command. |
Use the powers of Bhaal to slaughter Balaldur’s Gate and eventually the world. Walk through a wasteland of corpses as the last living being in existence as seen in Northalicss YouTube video. |
Urge your companions to run, but promise you’ll find them when the time comes. |
Your companions will land and run away, and you won’t see the bloody cutscene, but the implication is there that you will eventually hunt them down in pursuit of your father’s goal. |
To get the ending, you need to defeat Orin when you duel her to become Bhaal’s Chosen. This role is unrelated to your status as an unholy assassin, although for those of you who are going for maximum flavor, you can also embrace your bloody side. As long as you don’t disappoint Bhaal by losing to Orin, you’ll have the option to watch this new cutscene.
New evil endings for all origin characters
Along with the Durge, all of your Origin playthroughs can now be meaner than ever
Just like the Tav evil endings, the origin character evil endings take place as long as you have killed one of the two Illithids and taken control of the Netherbrain. After you float down from the Netherbrain’s platform, you’ll have a fifth option alongside the previous tav options. Select the first option with any origin character to see that character’s new ending.
You can check each of the cutscenes in Northalicss collection on YouTube. Here’s every choice you’ll make, and the consequences of it:

Will |

Whether you’re playing an origin character or your own Tav, you’ll have plenty of new evil options to enrich the ending of your playthrough. Patch Seven not only introduces new endings for evil players to enjoy, but it also provides new challenges and balance changes that make Honor mode much harder.
