How to get Chromite in Palworld

With Pal Worldof Feybreak update recently released, there is a ton of new content to explore. Included in the update are new friends, additional and updated mechanics, new weapons, attacks, buildings, and even tower bosses. The addition of the new Feybreak territory to the Sakurajima area also added a ton of new materials to farm, including Chromite, as this island is about six times larger than the originally freed up area. There are many new facets of the game to explore, especially when it comes to getting new items to build bases and upgrade friends.

With the additional consumables, items and materials now in Palworld – which can also be more difficult with the new hardcore mode – there are several ways to use some of the most valuable items available. As an additional item, metal detectors have been added to the game that allow players to find layers of metal buried underground on certain islands. Chromite is one of the main metals found in Feybreak.

How to find chromite in Palworld

Chromite is one of the newest cultivable materials in the Pal World. One caveat of this particular metal is that it requires players to be above level 56 to power use the metal detector. The Metal Detector allows you to find ores hidden nearby and marks the metal when you get close to the underground ore. This can be unlocked on technology screen. A node will appear whenever you find one amidst a cloud of grayish smoke, and up to 90 pieces of chromite can be mined per node.

You can also use the new canine friend, Smokiewhich can detect and extract chromite for you. The best places to find chromite are inside the caves of Feybreak Island and if you have your Pal outside your Pal Sphere in passive mode, you can get up to 400 Chromite per node. Obtaining Chromite as a reward from the new NPC, the Arrogant Pal Critic, is also possible.

Uses of Chromite in Palword

Preparation of some first-line items

Chromite may not seem useful initially, but is used in many powerful crafting recipes for later stages of the game. Chromite is primarily used in the Hexolite Ore recipe, which requires five Chromite, 12 Hexolite Quartz, and 20 Ore to create a piece. This is necessary for Hexolite weapons, armor, and even other equipment in the arsenal. It is best to store as much chromite as possible in Pal World to ensure you have enough to complete the set if you want the upgrade, as large amounts of chromite are needed to fully upgrade.
