Deployable abilities leave an object on the battlefield in Marvel Rivals. Heroes with such abilities include Peni Parker, Groot, Moon Knight, Namor, Rocket Raccoon, and Loki. If ignored, these items can deal tremendous damage, block an area, or quickly heal the enemy. It's important destroy deployed objects quickly before they become an unstoppable threat. On the other hand, if you're playing one of these summoners, defending your creations is vital.
During the chaotic fight that is Marvel RivalsIt's much easier to identify enemy abilities than friendly ones. Deployable abilities used by enemies tend to be bright red, while those used by allies can be a mix of colors depending on Marvel Rivals team composition, although usually blue or another non-red shade. Identifying them in mirror matches will be the most obvious, as duplicates will be scattered everywhere. Focus on destroying items made by an enemy and raise shields to protect those made by allies.
How to find and destroy enemy-deployed abilities in Marvel Rivals
Identify objects from afar and flank them
The enemy is likely to place its deployable capabilities in a key strategic area, particularly a tight corner or directly on an objective in Marvel Rivals. Offensive abilities, including Moon Knight's Ancient Ankh and Peni Parker's Bionic Spider-Nest, devastate melee characters like Wolverine and Black Panther. It's primarily the job of long-range snipers like Black Widow and Hela to locate a deployed object and shoot before short-range fighters get close.
Moon Knight's Ancient Ankh – Disruptive Surprises
Moon Knight can destroy groups of enemies by setting up one or two Ancient Ankhs. Initially, the spell is cast and then attracts enemies. However, the real threat comes if the Ankhs are left out, as Moon Knight can bounce both Crescent Darts and Moon Blades on Ankhdealing repeated damage to multiple enemies. If placed correctly, it will destroy anyone with 250 health, becoming the bane of the best strategists in Marvel Rivals.
Namor's Water Domain – Dual Towers
Namor can summon up to two Monster Spawns that can shoot from 40 meters away. This makes them very dangerous even to ranged characters in Marvel Rivals, like the Punisher and the Winter Soldier. Normally, Monsters only attack the closest target, but if Namor lands Neptune's Trident, they will focus on that enemy.
Peni Parker's Bionic Spider Nest - An Instant Death Trap
Peni Parker can completely turn off a small patch of any Marvel Rivals map, including domination objectives. Up to 10 drones will emerge from the nest, dealing 40 damage each, for a possible total of 400. Additionally, Peni can hide Arachno-Minas in webs, dealing over 1,000 damage – enough to kill most Vanguards.
Groot Walls – Massive Distractions
Groot can use two types of walls in Marvel Rivals: Thornlash, which deals damage, and Ironwood, which heals. They only activate when Groot is nearby, making them useful when he is already distracted or surrounded. Most importantly, hitting any of the walls triggers character-specific hit effects, making walls an ideal target for Mantis and Iron Fist to reduce cooldown.
Rocket Raccoon's BRB and CYA - Performance Boosters
Unlike the other items deployed in Marvel Rivalsthose granted by Rocket Raccoon are great buffs for the team. BRB drops armor packs that give an additional 25 health. Can also fully revive allies up to 50 meters away. Rocket's Ultimate, CYA, is even scarier. Gives everyone on the team a 20 meter radius a 40% increase in damage for 12 seconds. As a sniper, make CYA your primary objective.
Loki Doppelgangers – Heals on command
Loki can create two clones of himself with Deception or Doppelganger. It can also move between copies with Devious Exchange. Clones don't do much damage or heal on their own in Marvel Rivals. The real question is that all three Lokis can use the Regeneration Domain simultaneously. This means they can create a massive total amount of healing and near invincibility for five seconds.
Where to hide and defend your own deployables
The enemy cannot attack something it cannot see
As best ranked Marvel Rivals players will be searching for implanted items, you must be sneaky as a summoner. Make sure you use these skills near unexpected sharp turns, atop a high ledge, or even directly behind enemy lines. If the opposition has no idea where to look, they will not be prepared to defend themselves.
Just because most deployed items are stationary doesn't make them purely defensive in Marvel Rivals. You can still use many of these moves while pushing a convoy, and you can place some deployable abilities on a moving objective. If an object is at maximum health, you can even manually detonate it for a shorter cooldown and quick repositioning.
