Scores of bosses will stand between the Destined One and Sun Wukong’s path of reincarnation Black Myth: Wukong. Each of the game’s chapters culminates in a fight against a boss, with several optional bosses lurking off the beaten path. One such enemy is a wolf Gui named Guangzhi, who stands guard inside Chapter One’s Forest of Wolf Place. Defeating Guangzhi isn’t a major story requirement, but there are several reasons to consider taking on the Yougai Chief early.
Aside from testing the monkey’s mettle against a powerful enemy early on, Guangzhi offers a chance to acquire two unique items that will make future boss encounters easier: the Red Tides Transformation Spell And the preliminary ship of the game, Fireproof coat. Defeating Guangzhi before taking on the fiery Black Bear Guai at the end of Chapter One will increase your chances of moving on to the next area, Yellow Sand Ridge.

Spend sparks on upgrades before going to the forest of wolves
Whether fighting Guangzhi early or returning later, prepare to dodge. There are several evasive moves you can do Acquire in the stamina skill tree. First, unlock Deft Evasion with the Sparks you get from leveling up in Chapter One. Stamina skills are housed in the Foundation Attributes menu. There you will find Deft Evasion, which boosts dodge agility. If the destined one has the resources, there are more stamina skills that enhance the perfect dodge ability, viz Bold stroke, ephemeral shadow and vengeful mirage. Focus on dodge upgrades to help you avoid Guangxi’s brutal melee combos.
After defeating the Bull Guard, and learning the Immobilize spell, the Destined One enters the area. Outside the forest. To find Guangzhi, explore the river area to find the path to the Field of Wolf Chief, found through an archway across a short bridge. It is worth investigating and fighting enemies along the way to collect materials for shrine purchases. Besides dodging, the simian can Allocate resources to upgrade health and mana. Immobilize is a reliable spell that freezes enemies in place, leaving them open to monkey onslaught. Upgrading mana will Reduce the cost of spell use to cast Immobilize.
Shrines are places where resources can be purchased. Consider spending will to buy one of these medicines before facing Guangxi: Cooling powderWhich increases burn resistance, or Evil repelling medicinewhat Reduces damage taken
Fighting Wolf Guai Guangxi
Dodge, dodge, dodge, and dodge again
The first thing you will notice about Guangzhi is The flaming spear of the wolf. The boss will waste no time in confronting the Destined One, charging forward with a spinning slash combo. Dodge the initial attack and land a quick combo of your own. Then back up and prepare for a ranged attack, as the fire spear is thrown in your direction. The wolf executes the throw As an outward maneuver. If timed correctly, the throw can be dodged. As damage is dealt to Guangzhi, the wolf’s attacks evolve.
The boss’s hard attack is a summersault combo that is slow and easy to dodge, but hard to counter when the combo is finished. Additionally, when a great distance is created between the monkey and the wolf, the boss charges himself to perform Slashing lung attacks to close the gap. The attacks can also come from an aerial position. If the monkey takes consecutive hits, they catch fire. Dodge until the Flames are extinguished. Look to counter the spinning combo with a hard focus attack, then cast the immobilize spell to deal free damage to a defenseless Guangzhi.
Black Myth: Wukong Uses an attack-cancelling mechanic. If caught striking during one of Guangzhi’s combos, cancel the attack by dodging to avoid damage.
Claim the Red Tides transformation spell
Lead the power of Guangzhi against enemies on the path of Sun Wukong
When taking on guanxi, it is likely that the intended one will have only a few tools in their arsenal. Trust that the wolf Guai is beatable with the available resources. Remember to dodge and cast immobilize when the spell is charged. Or spend will in shrines on potions to limit the boss’s damage output.
After killing Guangzhi, collect your rewards, mainly the Red Tides transformation spell. Transformations are powerful spells that allow the monkey to, well, transform into the spirits of defeated chiefs and briefly use their abilities without taking base damage. Also, it is now possible to complete the game’s first ship quest to obtain the Fire Mantle. This is another optional but worthwhile attempt Before facing Black Bear Guai. Continue the quest for Lost Relics and be on the lookout for more optional bosses in Black Myth: Wukong.
