STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl There are plenty of enemies for you to fight, but Fire and Electric Poltergeists are some of the hardest to defeat. The elemental attacks from these balls of pure energy are devastating, capable of killing you quickly if you’re not prepared. However, with the right strategy, you can easily take down these creatures whenever they appear.
One of the best ways to deal with any type of enemy is to upgrade your weapons in Stalker 2. Armor improvements will also help, as dealing more damage and having better protection will, at the very least, allow you to survive longer against Poltergeists. Any improvements to your equipment will allow you to deal more damage and take less punishment, giving you more time to come up with a plan.
How to beat electric poltergeists
Close the distance and avoid objects
Electric poltergeists appear as orbs of smoke and lightning floating in the air. These enemies tend to fight you from afar, using psionic abilities to levitate objects and throw them at you to inflict damage like bullets. These enemies are also known as Electro or Invisible Energy and are easy to recognize as they make a horrible noise whenever you antagonize them.
The most important strategy to remember when fighting an Electric Poltergeist is track you based on sound. These enemies can become invisible at any timemaking them difficult to define compared to their fire counterparts. Although the Electric Poltergeist does not inflict status effects on your character, it will use the entire size of the map Stalker 2 to stay as far away from you as possible while attacking.
Whenever you hear an Electric Poltergeist scream, you need to jump or run to avoid the debris he will throw at you. The projectiles he controls are frighteningly fast, so they’ll hit you if you’re not moving. When you encounter an Electric Poltergeist during your journey, here is a good step-by-step process for taking it down:
- Get close to the Electric Poltergeist by sneaking up on it
- Shoot them at point blank range with a shotgun
- Avoid Telekenisis attacks
- Shoot between your attacks and moves
- Repeat until it is destroyed
Be careful when approaching an Electric Poltergeist, as it can cause damage to your character as it passes by you with its chaotic movements. No detection device in Stalker 2 can track this enemy, so you must be aware of where he is.
One of the most annoying ways an Electric Poltergeist can defend itself is when Summons a stone wall around you to protect you from their bullets. You may have to run towards the Poltergeist to get to a position where you can see it. As long as you reload at the right times and take advantage of opportunities to inflict damage, you will be able to defeat him.
How to beat fire poltergeists
Stay away and avoid getting burned
Blazing Fire Poltergeists work very differently from Electric Poltergeists, as they make much less noise than their roaring cousins. The roaring fire of this Poltergeist type inflicts the Burn status on your charactercausing them to take rapid damage over time. Remember to have Medkits or other healing items in your quick access slots whenever you fight a Poltergeist, so you can quickly heal from its attacks.
To avoid the fiery damage of a Fire Poltergeist, stay away from these enemies whenever you can. Long-range weapons like assault rifles or SMGs are best for these encounters, as you need to be able to shoot these Poltergeist types from a distance. Follow these steps to properly face and defeat a Fire Poltergeist:
- Shoot a fire poltergeist with a sniper rifle if you encounter one from afar
- Throw one or more grenades to damage it
- Use a ranged weapon to continue dealing damage
- Wait between Poltergeist moves to shoot
- Repeat steps 2 through 4 until the creature is destroyed
It’s always better fight Fire Poltergeists in wider spacesbut you don’t choose your battlefield most of the time. Some side missions in Stalker 2 can pit you against a Fire Poltergeist in a small room where escape is impossible. When this happens, be careful with grenades, as getting too close to one you threw can be an embarrassing way to die.
Each type of Poltergeist is dangerous in different ways, but none of them are invincible. Once you discover a good strategy for defeating a Fire or Electric Poltergeist in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobylyou can apply it whenever you encounter these paranormal enemies.
