How FBI: International Villain's Return Will Impact Wes in Season 4 Fall Finale, Teased by Jay Hayden: “It Gets More Personal”

Screening on Tuesday, December 17th, FBI: International Season 4 Episode 8 is titled 'You'll Never See It Coming' and serves as the show's fall finale. It will see the return of Beau Knapp's Greg Csonka when the key witness in the case against him is “beaten to death in a Budapest prison before he can testify.” The antagonist first appeared in the season 4 premiere and vowed to take revenge on the leader of the Fly Team, responsible for his arrest. So it was only a matter of time before the plot came full circle and forced Wes to revisit what — or who — Csonka cost him.

Joining the team in trying to defend Csonka's conviction is agent Tyler Booth, played by Station 19 alumni Jay Hayden. When speaking with TelaRant regarding his character's relationship with Wes, Hayden confirms that Tyler has influence over his former colleague. As Wes struggles to control his emotions in the fall finale, Fly Team's temporary agent may pressure you to choose revenge over justice. Check out Hayden's full quote below:

ScreenRant: The recent episode has the team wondering if Wes' friendship with Tyler affects his decision-making. What do you think?

Jay Hayden: Yeah. I think because they were partners for so long, they were equals for so long, and they had each other's backs, and they did a lot of things back then and they were friends – it's very difficult now that the dynamic has changed to change that. They are still operating as if even though the titles have changed and the jobs are different. It will keep colliding.

Well, Csonka is coming back in the mid-season finale and goes after Vo…

Jay Hayden: That's a perfect example. As everything becomes more personal for Wes, will Tyler's counseling be positive or perhaps lead him to a more negative place? Maybe the devil is on your shoulder – that voice gets louder and louder. Now he has someone in his ear saying, “Whatever it takes, whatever it takes. Who cares? No one will know.”

Who is Tyler Booth in FBI: International Season 4?

Jay Hayden's character will appear in several episodes of the series.

Jay Hayden's Tyler Booth is introduced as Wes's friend and former colleague in FBI: International Season 4, Episode 7, “Keen as a Bean.” He travels to Budapest and consults with the leader of the Fly Team about Ed Haskins, a former police officer who ended up on America's “Most Wanted” list for blackmailing other police officers. Tyler has been using Ed's ex-wife to lure him, but shows little compassion for the emotional toll the affair is taking on her.

He and Wes disagree on the best way to proceed, with the new power dynamic between them causing even more complications. However, during a phone call with his daughter, it becomes evident that Hayden's character has redeeming qualities. The mission is a success and Tyler is assigned to the Fly team for a period of 90 days. Although Wes feels indebted to his friend for protecting him when a break-in went wrong, he emphasizes that Tyler needs to take the role seriously and respect his authority.

The rivalry between Wes and Csonka is about to get even more personal in FBI: International Fall Finale

Csonka is going after someone else Wes cares about.

Wes and Vo sitting next to each other in FBI: International season 4

Wes officially joins the Fly Team after his partner is killed by Csonka in the Season 4 premiere. Since Mike's death, Vo acted as a pillar of support for his former training agentand their connection remains a surprising highlight of the show. In preview to FBI: International Season 4, Episode 8, Wes comes face to face with Csonka before being transported. The prisoner convoy is intercepted and Vo falls after a shootout. While it's doubtful the series will kill off such a vital character, his near-death experience could make Wes more susceptible to Tyler's negative influence.

FBI: International airs Tuesdays on CBS and is available to stream the next day on Paramount+.
