Every spirit in the CBS Ghosts Series died a unique and haunting death. The cast includes Rose McIver as Sam, Utkarsh Ambudkar as Jay, and a cast of paranormal spirits spanning 1000 years. The dead who inhabit Woodstone Mansion have experienced deaths that range from when Vikings roamed Indigenous land to the present day, with the spirits offering unique ghost time periods and backstories that fill out their characters.
While there are many shows like GhostsThe haunting premise of the residents at Woodstone Mansion is undoubtedly unique. The death of each ghost character in the series adds to the show’s lore and builds the entire Woodstone B&B timeline. Although there are still some unknowns about the fate of the spirits in the CBS series, Ghosts has revealed vital details about the dead that comprise the series, which are essential to appreciate the series.
Thorfinn
Thor died from a lightning strike
Sofa Chandler Long Thor died from a lightning strike In 1007 CE. Although this is not his proudest moment, Thor was susceptible to the circumstances because he was wearing a metal helmet during a thunderstorm, contributing to the cause of his death. In all fairness to the 1000-year-old Viking, Thor was not equipped to survive independently. His Viking crew abandoned him in what became North America for unknown reasons, leaving Thorfinn vulnerable to the elements.
While Thor survived several times on Earth, he finally died in Woodstone. As a 1000-year-old Viking, Thor is one of the oldest spirits on the property yet to receive “Sucked out.” While Thor was still living on the property, he made friends with a squirrel named “Oscar,” Why Thor experienced nightmares about murder for years. Although he is one of the oldest ghosts on the property, Thor’s unique ghost trait separates him from the more recently deceased.
Sasappis
Sasappis died in the 1500s
Sasappis’ death is the only unknown death in Ghosts Season 4. Roman Zaragoza’s Sasappis belongs to the Lenape, a group of people indigenous to the northeastern woodlands who lived in New York Bay, western Long Island, and the lower Hudson Valley of New York State before European contact. Sasappis died in the early 1500sMeaning there was a chance his death occurred before European contact.
The Lenape people first recorded contact with Europeans in 1524. While Sasappis and fellow ghost Shiki were born to the area at their death, the Lenape were displaced from their land due to the American Revolutionary War. The Indian removal policy further displaced the Lenape in the 1860s. While the cause of Sasappi’s death is unclear, his ghost power is that he can enter people’s dreams and communicate with them in an unconscious state.
Isaac Higgintott
Isaac died of dysentery
Brandon Scott Jones’ Isaac Higgintott is an American soldier during the Revolutionary War. In the late 1700s, Isaac fought in the war until he died of dysentery on the property. Isaac’s death is a recurring joke, because the character lacked general attention to clean eating, drinking and hygiene practices.
Forgotten in modern times and even in his own time, Isaac was a founder whose greatest achievement was negotiating the concessions of T. Ticanderuga. The character also created a long-range musket called the – Isaac. Since Isaac died of a bent condition, he emits a terrible gastrointestinal smell when the living pass by him.
Hetty Woodstone
Hetty died of strangulation
The lady of the house died at Woodstone Mansion in the late 1800s Hetty strangled herself with a telephone cord. Rebecca Wisocky’s Hetty was living in the mansion when her husband mysteriously disappeared, leaving her to answer for all of his crimes. With the choice of being accused of her husband’s crimes and losing her fortune or else, Hottie took the cord of the rare Woodstone family phone and used it to end her life.
Hattie later revealed to Isaac and Sam that she was acting to save her son, Thomas, by keeping his fortune intact. Hetty admitted that she regretted her decision and that she made a mistake. While Thomas may live on the Woodstone fortune, Hetty was aware that Thomas never had a mother, which hindered him in other ways.

Alberta Haynes
Alberta is poisoned
Thomas Woodstone murdered Alberta Haynes at Woodstone Mansion in the 1920s. Danielle Pinnock’s Alberta was an up-and-coming jazz singer of the decade, performing at Woodstone Mansion the night of her murder. At the time, Alberta was running with a bootlegger, who she was with the night she died. Her bootlegger boyfriend was dating Thomas Woodstone, who left a poisoned bottle of moonshine outside Alberta’s dressing room. When Alberta ingested some of the libations, she died and became a ghost, but she didn’t know for years how she died.

Initially, it was unclear who murdered Alberta. Potential suspects are her bootlegger boyfriend, her rival, and even her sister. Sam, a young journalist, investigates Alberta’s death on a podcast about the jazz singer that she started with an Alberta superfan, Todd Perlman, who came to Woodstone B&B to investigate the singer’s death. When Todd sampled a bottle of moonshine from Alberta’s items, he discovered that someone had poisoned Alberta. When the cohort investigates further, Hottie reveals that she saw her son, Thomas, kill Alberta because he was having an affair with her bootlegger boyfriend.
Flower
A bear against a flower
Sheila Carrasco Susan “Flower” Montero died after a bear attacked her on the property. In 1969, Bloom wandered onto the property while attending a musical festival. A hippie and product of her time, Bloom was on mushrooms when she died, and the drugs played a heavy hand in her death.
When Bloom encountered the bear on the property while exploring with her partner, Ira, her compromised state clouded her judgment, and she attempted to embrace the giant creature. Uninterested in her jovial gesture, the bear killed and ate Flower, leaving her stranded as a ghost of the property. Since Flower was on hallucinogenic drugs during her time of death, she turns living human beings to stone as she walks through them, causing a 30-to-60 minute high.

Pete Martino
A little girl shot Pete in the neck
Richie Moriarty’s Peter “Pete” Martino died accidentally in 1985. A Boy Scout troop leader, Pete died after a girl in his troop accidentally shot him in the neck with an arrow. Pete’s scout troop was using a grassy patch of lawn at Woodstone Estate to practice their archery skills, leaving Pete stranded as a ghost on the property after his death.
That said, Pete is the only ghost in the CBS series that can leave the property. Pete realized it was his ghost power at the end of Ghosts season 3. While Pete had an unfortunate death, and the “cool” Arrow sticking out of his neck makes his still life uncomfortable, Pete has one of the most exciting fate since he can leave the property.
Trevor Lefkowitz
Trevor died of a pill overdose
Asher Gradman’s Trevor died of a heart attack on the property after consuming alcohol and prescription pills. Trevor was at the mansion for the weekend in 2000, partying with her stock trading “Bruce” When they decided to participate in a dangerous recreational drug game, in which they would take unlabeled prescription drugs for fun. when Trevor’s pill cocktail ended fatallyHis friends dumped his body in the lake on the property.
While many spirits inhabiting the Woodstone Mansion have no connection to the property, Trevor knew David Woodstone, Sam’s uncle and one of the men who worked at Trevor’s company while he was alive. Although Trevor has every reason to feel bitter that his friends dumped his body rather than call 911 when there was still time, he doesn’t hold a grudge and instead remembers his final moments at the Woodstone fondly.

- Nigel – Nigel Chessum (John Hartman) died at what would become Woodstone Estate after being shot by American soldier Isaac Higgintott. Isaac designed a musket with a scope that allowed him to see long distances, and he used his device to look at the British soldiers during the days of Isaac and Nigel on opposite sides of the war. When Isaac breathed, he accidentally pulled the trigger of the firearm, killing the British opponent he loved.
- Nancy – Nancy (Betsy Sodaro) is one of the many cholera ghosts. Nancy and the other cholera ghosts likely died in the early to mid-1800s, as the height of the cholera pandemic was from the 1830s to the 1860s. Nancy and the other cholera ghosts died in the estate after being locked in a plague house, otherwise known as a plague house, which was a shelter for those infected with contagious or infectious diseases and burned alive.
- Elias – Elias Woodstone (Matt Walsh) suffocated in the basement of Woodstone Mansion in the secret vault he had built while Hetty was away on vacation in the late 1800s.
- Crash – Someone murdered Crash at Woodstone in the 1950s. Crash can remove his head, meaning it is likely that the ghost had his head cut off, causing his gruesome death. While an unfortunate death at the time, Crash’s death is also unfavorable in his afterlife, since Crash’s head can be off, and others can sneak up on the spirit and dislocate his most valuable extremity.
- Stephanie– Stephanie (Odes A’Zion) is a teenage ghost who died on the property in 1987. Stephanie was parked at the Woodstone mansion to make out with her boyfriend, Todd, on their prom night when they encountered a chainsaw murderer. Stephanie and Todd heard about the escaped killer on the radio when they set out, but they appeared to ignore the threat. How did the murderer get hold of the lovers and beat Stephanie with a chainsaw, as evidenced by the large gash through her back. ;
- Carol – Pete’s widow, Carol Martino, died on the property after choking on a donut hole. Sam and Jay initially invited Carol to Woodstone by mistake, but now she is entwined with the group.
Ghosts (US) is a comic series centered on a young couple who inherit an old mansion only to discover it is inhabited by eclectic spirits from different historical periods, blending humor and history as they navigate life among the dead.
