Warning: contains SPOILERS for Fire & Blood, the book on which House of the Dragon is based. One of the biggest theories about Daemon Targaryen in Dragon House could have a positive impact Game of Thrones. Daemon’s story is one of the most important Dragon House Season 3, now that he has once again sworn his loyalty to Rhaenyra Targaryen, now ready to fully support her bid for the Iron Throne. However, it’s possible his story goes beyond that, with one theory claiming he will become the Three-Eyed Raven.
That’s part of the fun of a character like Matt Smith’s Rogue Prince, because his fate isn’t 100% confirmed in the book. Fire and Blood (There are even wilder theories that he is the Night King…). The theory that Daemon is the Three-Eyed Raven arises mainly after a vision he had in Dragon House season 2 finale, which included Brynden Rivers, a character we know he does become the Crow. Eventually, the title will pass to Bran Stark, but if WARM If you gave the role to Daemon, as wild as he is, it could change this story for the better.
The problem with Bran at the end of Game Of Thrones
The point is not about him becoming king of Westeros
Bran becoming king of Westeros in Game of ThronesThe ending is one of the most criticized aspects of the entire show, but I don’t think that decision is the real problem. Instead of, the question is what surrounds him and how much is inexplicable about him being the Three-Eyed Raven. Tyrion Lannister says Bran has the best story, but the series’ mistake was not showing or explaining enough about this journey.
Bran’s complete disappearance in Season 5 is a major factor in this, a decision that is much worse when looking back at him becoming king…
Bran’s complete absence from Season 5 is a major factor in this, a decision that is much worse when looking at him becoming king, as he could have devoted more time to his training. Furthermore, Game of Thrones Season 8 has told us a few times that he’s different now, and not really Bran, but it hasn’t properly broken down exactly what it means to be the Three-Eyed Raven, what his true purpose is, or how his powers work. Everything was kept vague, and this made Bran more unknowablewhich meant the story of him becoming king was harder to understand.
Daemon Targaryen is the three-eyed raven – theory explained
There is some compelling evidence, but also some problems
Daemon’s vision of the Three-Eyed Raven in Dragon House The Season 2 finale certainly hints at some kind of connection, and there is one in Martin’s story:
-
Daemon is the great-grandfather of Brynden Rivers, the Raven before Bran, so the characters are at least related.
-
Brynden eventually inherits Daemon’s Valyrian steel sword, Dark Sister, who later disappears beyond the Wall.
The ending also established that Daemon now believes in Aegon the Conqueror’s dream of a song of ice and fire, even going so far as to say “Winter is coming” in High Valyrian. The Three-Eyed Raven is the enemy of the Night King, and now, too, Daemon is positioned as someone who is aware of – and wants to stop – the threat posed by the White Walkers. Daemon’s visions at Harrenhal are all linked to the weirwood treewhich itself provides a connection to the Three-Eyed Raven’s cave.
Daemon also saw one of the Green Men at Harrenhal, before his visions. They are people who guard the weirwood trees and are loyal to the Children of the Forest. This probably also means that they support the Three-Eyed Raven and could be doing his bidding. The idea for this, then, is that Daemon is rescued by one of the Green Men, who will then begin his transformation.
That’s because there is a window for Daemon’s fate to change. In the book, he is believed to have been killed in the Battle Above God’s Eye (the lake on the shores of which Harrenhal is located), along with Aemond Targaryen and the dragons Vhagar and Caraxes. All four fall into the lake, but unlike the others, Daemon’s is never found, and there are theories and songs in-universe that he actually survived. It could Dragon House be setting up a Green Man to get him out of the lake?
Daemon is more likely to die; Even if he doesn’t, the character doesn’t have First Men blood as far as we know, which contrasts with both Brynden and Bran.
It is, admittedly, still a long shot. Daemon is more likely to die; Even if he doesn’t, the character doesn’t have First Men blood as far as we know, which contrasts with both Brynden and Bran. This may not rule out the possibility of him being the Three-Eyed Raven, but it may count against him. Still, the idea that Alys’s visions served a greater purpose is not without merit, and while I think Daemon’s story is better with him dying and having a real ending, it could still benefit Game of Thrones confirm the theory.
HBO May Fix The Three-Eyed Raven With Two Upcoming Spinoffs
House Of The Dragon Isn’t The Only One With A Three-Eyed Raven Link
If Daemon was the Three-Eyed Raven, then it could at least help solve one of the major problems in Bran’s story and actually provide a deeper explanation and understanding of what that means. Daemon going this route would require the prequel to show why and how this happens, and provide more information about his purpose and powers, which was missing in Thrones‘ finishing.
If Dragon House do it or not, another one next Game of Thrones spinoff could do that. Brynden is a character from The Tales of Dunk & Egg novels, appearing in one of them (and potentially more, as Martin intends to write several more). They will be adapted into A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (first season releases in 2025), and so Brynden could be further developed in the HBO show, which could also add more weight and understanding to the Three-Eyed Raven. Bran said there was “many,” so it would be good to know a little more about them.
