Warning: There are spoilers ahead for From Season 3, Episode 5.of has no shortage of mysteries, but Henry (Robert Joy) just made a big point about one of them in season 3, episode 5, “The Light of Day.” As the father of Victor (Scott McCord), Henry was the most important addition to ofs cast of characters in season 3. For decades, Henry believed his wife and children were dead. This long-held belief was not challenged until Tabitha Matthews (Catalina Sandino Moreno) arrived outside his house in Camden, Maine, and he saw her holding Victor’s lunchbox. He learned from her that Victor was still alive.
Henry has since learned about the mysterious town where his wife and children disappeared many years ago and tries to help Tabitha as best he can. Tabitha and Henry later ended up in an ambulance and came upon the fallen tree on the way in of Season 3, Episode 3. Now that Henry is in town for the first timeHe begins to experience the mysterious place for himself and has already started picking up on strange details, including the motel sign.
He is just as observant as his son
During his first day in town, Henry notices the motel sign and that there is a pool nearby, but that there is no motel building. He shares this observation with Ethan Matthews (Simon Webster) and wonders aloud what happened to the motel building. No answers are provided, although his mention of the pool is a reminder of his existence, and Dale is teased to be encased in the pool after trying to travel through the distant tree at the end of the episode.

Despite being a newcomer to the city, Henry has already noticed and hinted at a mystery that has been present since the first episode of the series. Just like his son, Victor, who is very devout about the Town and even the surrounding forest changing, Henry also has a keen eye for details that are out of place. Since the episode took the time for Henry to ask the question, it will likely be important in future episodes, whether in season 3 or in of Season 4.
The missing motel may be the key to discovering what the town really is
Could it tie into the city’s origins?
The missing motel building may be a flaw in the town’s plan. on the surface, The Town is supposed to appear naturally during the day and is organized to look like an average small townComplete with a diner, a post office and other familiar locations. The lack of a motel suggests that the plan was not implemented correctly or completely. There were theories that Victor, or another child, created the town from their imagination. This could explain the missing motel, as a child could easily make the mistake of including a motel sign and pool, but forget to include the actual motel.
But when the city was transformed, the motel may have been destroyed, because the city was no longer a place to temporarily stay, and instead became a prison for those who lived there.
Another possibility is that the Town was normal before it became a place where people were trapped and ofS brutal monsters emerged every night. Back then, it could have been a regular motel where travelers temporarily stayed. But when the city was transformed, the motel may have been destroyed, because the city was no longer a place to temporarily stay, and instead became a prison for those who live there. The motel sign and pool may be a reminder of what the town was like before its transformation, making ofs motel the key to unlocking some important secrets.
