As the world patiently waits for more news on the sixth Grand Theft Auto, Rockstar Games fans put their heads together to brainstorm a potential new franchise. While the storied developer was once known for hosting a variety of games, the success of grand theft auto 5, And then grand theft auto online, has seen its active IPs shrink. While Red Dead Redemption 2 was a huge hit in its own right, the failure of its multiplayer mode may have pushed Rockstar to put all its eggs in GTAs lucrative basket.
Over on Reddit, user RogerRoger63358 Ask the community for their thoughts on a futuristic Grand Theft AutoAs a spin-off from the core series that embraces sci-fi and cyberpunk tropes.
Players are mixed on the idea but comment how ____________ Offered a compromise of An open-world sci-fi rockstar game that exists as its own franchise divorced from Grand Theft AutoAn idea that received a lot of praise from fans. The consensus is that many players want to see Rockstar tackle the sci-fi genre as a separate IP, one that could be inspired by GTA But it doesn’t come in the same world.
GTA could make a great cyberpunk-like
It may take inspiration from CD Projekt Red
As a role-playing game, Cyberpunk 2077 Plays very differently from these Grand Theft Auto Series however It provides an excellent blueprint for how to build a sci-fi open world. Rockstar’s ability to create detailed, intricate environments filled with oddities and emergent storytelling could work in an environment as familiar yet alien as a cyberpunk city. Taking some of the genre’s tropes and fitting them into an action adventure game would make for a fun experience, similar to Holy Row 4.
Rockstar can also fix some of the core issues with players Cyberpunk 2077 If the studio ever goes the route of developing an open-world sci-fi game. Even after several substantial updates, CDPR’s RPG can feel a bit robotic with stilted NPCs and events that happen on a timer rather than organically. Rockstar’s eye for detail and ability to make digital worlds feel alive would remedy a major problem with 2077Even if programming such an environment takes years.

Screen Rant’s take on a Cyberpunk GTA
It can be fun if handled correctly
The Grand Theft Auto Series has always reveled in its ability to parody modern life, so I have to imagine that Rockstar’s biting satire of technology and society would translate well into the cyberpunk genre.. The studio is incredibly talented at designing open worlds, so on a technical level, I think it could do a good job of bringing a dystopian future to life. Does it ever leave the comfort of GTA Is doubtful at this point, but I can’t help but think a new sci-fi IP from Rockstar would likely be a smash hit.
