All over Grey's Anatomy, Teddy has experienced several tragedies, directly affecting herself or her loved ones. This was true for the story that motivated Teddy's choice to join the army, but also for the several times his life was in danger while working at Gray Sloan Memorial. However, one tragedy in particular took Teddy by surprise because of how much it affected her after Teddy became emotionally attached to another character completely unexpectedly and quickly.

Mika's departure from Seattle had a similar impact on Grey's Anatomy season 21. His brush with death affected the entire new class of interns, with Grey's Anatomy midseason finale of season 21 showing how much Mika's New Friends Struggled With Almost Losing Her and I noticed how his return to Gray Sloan could have encountered several obstacles.
