Some fans claim he is the worst father in anime, while others believe his reputation is unjustified. While it may be easy to criticize Goku’s unconventional parenting methods, it cannot be ignored that he was tasked with creating the strongest family on the planetwho are constantly called upon to protect the Earth from various terrible threats. This may not excuse what Goku himself describes as a lack of involvement in DaimaGohan’s last episode, but it offers some leeway in situations like Gohan’s fight with Cell.

While some fans may be unhappy with Goku’s latest comments about his own parenting skills, at least some may be satisfied with their own self-awarenessand see this as a step in the right direction, as the series’ protagonist becomes a grandfather in future arcs.
