Gladiator II should have been divided into two parts, just as Evil was. The story of Gladiator II being expanded into two films would have served the characters better and allowed the second film to more adequately set up the potential Gladiator 3. Freeing them both Gladiator sequels closer together would also have better established the series as a proper franchise and would have generated significantly more excitement for the third film after the end of Gladiator II.
Leading to the simultaneous launch of Gladiator II and Evilfans referred to the event as “Glicked,” reminiscent of 2023’s “Barbenheimer.” Gladiator II is a sequel to the popular 2000 film starring Russell Crowe, Evil performed significantly better at the box office and has a lot more to look forward to in awards season. As it stands, it looks like only Paul Mescal's Lucius will return to Gladiator 3like basically all the other big ones Gladiator II character died. It will be exciting to see Lucius on screen again, but since all the other characters are dead, Lucius's story Gladiator 3 will be completely separate Gladiator II. If Gladiator 3 was always a big possibility for Scott and his team, so more characters should have survived the second film. This is not the case, however, so Gladiator 3 will have to develop new characters, which is something that Gladiator II didn't always stand out.

Even Mescal's Lucius struggles to be an intriguing character in a star-studded cast. In his review, Richard Lawson of Vanity Fair wrote that Lúcio "gets lost in the shuffle, becoming less of a character than a mere piece on the game board."More screen time in two films could have helped improve the characters that were introduced in Gladiator II. Perhaps Gladiator II could have ended after General Acácio died in the Coliseum, and Gladiator 3 could have seen Macrino rise to power. Instead of, Gladiator 3 will likely recruit several new A-listers to join Mescal.

Since Gladiator 3 will likely introduce several new characters only to kill them off in the same movieyou will probably face the same problem as Gladiator II he did. Introducing so many new characters will take time away from Lucius and result in none of the characters getting enough attention. If it had been set up as an overall story spanning two films, this problem could have been avoided.
General, Gladiator 3 It's another sequence that doesn't need to happen. There is a lot of potential in Gladiator franchise, but the films will never be as good as the original if they are not properly planned. It seems that Gladiator 3 is destined to repeat the mistake that Gladiator II done.
