Hama’s crowdfunding campaign for the project is Now running on Kickstarter. Mounties vs. Werewolves Coming from the team of writer Larry Hama and artist Guy Dorian, Jr., the forty-eight-page debut issue will follow the story of Canadian Mouty David Lawrence, and if the title isn’t enough of a clue, He will come up against some evil beasts that only come out when the moon is full.
With story and layouts by Larry Hama, with Guy Dorian, Sr. Handling the finished art, the Mounties vs. Werewolves Kickstarter launched on August 15th and will end on September 14th.

In 1922, David Lawrence, a veteran of the Great War in France, and a Deputy Inspector in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police was assigned to a remote outpost in northern Alberta. The quiet posting that he expected appears to be anything but. The small rag-tag unit he commands is actually a top secret sub-agent whose mission is to kill werewolves and prevent them from spreading south to prey on larger settlements and population centers.
For followers of Hama’s work, Mounties vs. Werewolves is a fun next step in what has been a kind of creative renaissance; GI Joe has had a resurgence thanks to Skybound Entertainment, with both a rebooted version of the series set in the shared Energon Universe continuity, along with a revival of GI Joe: A Real American HeroWritten by Hama.
Larry Hama began his career in comics working as Wally Wood’s assistant in the early seventies, after which he joined Neal Adams’ Continuity Associates. After working as a penciller, Hama eventually made the leap to being an editor and writer in the 1980s. According to his own admission, Hama undertook the task of writing these GI Joe Funny because no other writer at Marvel wanted the job. As an author, Larry Hama has always made the most of his opportunities, and the Kickstarter campaign for Mounties vs. Werewolves is just the next extension of that.
