A new squid game The season 2 trailer debuted. Season 1 of the Netflix series proved to be a global phenomenonneeding just 12 days to become the most-watched season of a non-English show in the streaming platform’s history, as well as remaining in the Global Top 10 for nine consecutive weeks. What this means for Squid Game Season 2
Seong Gi-hun and the frontman are openly testing each other
The trailer shows that following the squid game Ending the first season, Gi-hun is not only trying to take down the games and Front Man, but he is doing so openly. Gi-hun isn’t being subtle about his return as the Front Man, and probably also the guard, are fully aware of the former victor’s presence. As the trailer already shows Gi-hun admitting to the other players that he has competed in previous games, this revelation will probably be released at the beginning of season 2.
For all the knowledge he has about the games, the other players distrust Gi-hun and even accuse him of working for Front Man. Although the easiest thing is to simply kill Gi-hun during one of the games, the Front Man can instead see other players turn against the person trying to help them. Meanwhile, there are also photos of the frontman’s brother Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-jun) and other police officers as authorities close in on the games.
Our opinion on the new teaser trailer
Season 2 could be equally good if it meets one condition
Seeing Gi-hun back in a player uniform, Red Light’s return, Green Light and Jun-ho’s ongoing investigation show that Season 2 has many of the same elements that made Season 1 a success. To fully replicate past success, new characters need to be as compelling as possible. squid game characters from season 1, most of whom are dead. If the new players are as developed as those Gi-hun met in Season 1, squid game season two could be just as successful.
