Rose McIver’s Sam has held a central role in the show since, as the link between the ghost world and the human world, she was pivotal to each episode’s plot. Utkarsh Ambdukar’s Jay has a comparatively limited role in seasons 1-3, as he cannot interact with the ghosts. The ghosts can all talk to everyone, and Sam can talk to everyone, so Jay is the only main character who is limited to only having conversations with other humans. Ghosts Season 4 promises to change that with a major upcoming twist that will let Jay finally see the ghosts as well.
Ghosts Season 4 is introducing Jay’s parents – what to expect
The CBS sitcom will finally reveal Jay’s parents
That’s not the only good news for Jay from the upcoming outing. Ghosts Season 4 will introduce Jay’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arondekar, to the showAlthough the actors who have to play the roles have not yet been revealed. Jay’s sister Bella appeared in season 12, episode 1, just titled “Jay’s Sister,” but viewers haven’t learned much about his parents until now. This makes their arrival in Season 4 all the more exciting since Mr. and Mrs. Arondekar might surprise even longtime fans of the series. Although Ghosts Having explored Sam’s childhood, Jay’s upbringing is more of a mystery.
As Sam is the more impulsive of the pair, Jay is often relegated to her sidekick in the pair’s adventures.
While Jay saw ghosts in Ghosts Season 4 is his most surprising upcoming plot, the arrival of his parents can also be character. As Sam is the more impulsive of the pair, Jay is often relegated to her sidekick in the pair’s adventures. Although he works well in the role, it will be fun to see what side of Jay the arrival of his parents brings out. Jay’s character is ripe for exploration in season 4, especially now that all of the show’s ghosts are well established and the dynamic between them has become clear.
The introduction of Jay’s parents is perfectly timed with him seeing ghosts
The change of Jay’s Ghosts Season 4 may overlap with his parents’ introduction
The news that Jay will see ghosts in season 4 is already exciting, but the arrival of his parents sets up a potentially ingenious episode premise. Jay should start seeing the ghosts at the same time his parents arriveSince this setup would cause the most chaos and, by extension, comedy. Jay’s nerves around seeing his parents may clash perfectly with his newfound ability, thus proving that seeing ghosts isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Jay wished for Sam’s powers in Ghosts Season 2, but winning them over while his parents are visiting might cause him to reconsider.
Like his equivalent character in the original British series, Mike, Jay can’t really wrap his head around what it’s like for Sam to constantly be aware of the surrounding ghosts of the house. Although Mike never had the opportunity to walk in his wife’s shoes for a day, Jay may be more empathetic to this mixed blessing when he finds out what communicating with the spirits is really like. If this happened during a visit from his parents, it might give Jay a perfectly timed opportunity to stand up for Sam and reiterate how much he appreciates her.
Ghosts Season 4 sounds like the biggest yet for Jay
The fourth outing of the CBS hit will wrap up the story of Jay
No matter how the show handles the plot, it’s clear that Jay will be Ghosts Season 4’s MVP. This makes sense, since the CBS sitcom has balanced its screen time between Sam and its titular ghost since season 1. While a crossover with the British Ghosts Or similar ratings-grabbing stunts may be tempting, delving deeper into the show’s already beloved characters is a much smarter route. Jay has been a solid member of the show’s supporting cast since its pilot episode, so it’s time to get his share of the spotlight.
Ghosts Season 4 can expand on Jay’s past and also incorporate the ghosts into his storylines now that he can see them. Even if his ability to see the ghosts is only temporary, it will still allow Jay to connect to them more than he ever could when Sam was acting as a medium between them. Thus, Jay’s role in the show can become stronger and more well-defined in season 4. Ghosts Can give Jay a chance to shine in season 4, and it’s not a moment too soon.
