Ghosts Season 4 Will Likely Confirm 1 Shocking Backstory (But I Don’t Think It Should)

Although Ghosts Season 4 could prove that one supporting character’s backstory was all a big joke, I don’t think the CBS sitcom should take that route. The Ghosts of CBS’s Ghosts are the real heroes of the show, despite how engaging Sam and Jay’s comedic misadventures can be. Viewers are just as invested in the antics of Pete, Hetty, Flower and Bjorn as they are in the success of the young couple, even if the ghosts can’t escape the grounds of the Woodstone B&B. However, not every ghost of Ghosts has received an in-depth backstory or discovered their powers yet.

luckily, Ghosts Season 4 is set to change that. According to TVLine, Ghosts Season 4 will see the series finally reveal how Sass died. A member of the Lenape tribe, Sas wanted to be a storyteller in his life. He is thought to have lived sometime around the 1500s, but any other biographical information is hard to come by. That is, unless SAS secretly revealed his backstory years ago. Although this sounds intriguing, I really hope so Ghosts Season 4 didn’t reveal that Sass’s sarcastic backstory was real, because that would ruin the character’s untapped potential.

While Thorfinn is one of the few ghosts who is older than Sass, the two couldn’t be more different. The Viking still relies on pretty primitive communication, as evidenced in Thor’s Ghosts Season 2 subplot. In contrast, Sass is, as its nickname implies, much more verbose. Sardonic and eloquent, Sass is a natural-born storyteller, often offering sarcastic commentary on Sam’s best-laid plans. As such, it was no surprise when Sass claimed to have died in 1995 back in season 1, episode 5, “Halloween.” Sass briefly convinces Sam that his birth outfit is a costumeAnd he recently passed away.

However, he almost immediately reversed the story after fooling Sam, and I think that should be the last time that Ghosts Mention the argument. Although circumstances have improved in recent years thanks to show how Reservation dogs, Rutherford FallsAnd Dark windsThere is still a dearth of Native American representation on television in 2024. Sass’s status as a Native American allows him to bring to life parts of America’s history that are all too often forgotten entirely, and wasting that perspective on a punchline would be A terrible decision for the series. I am sure that revelation would be a mistake.

Sass’s backstory should not change his historical era

Although Sass may still be telling the truth about its origins, Woodstone B&B has many ghosts from the 20th century. Sass’s indigenous roots are more interesting since he himself represents this era of history, and I’d rather see more of that history in Ghosts Season 4 like the revelation that he was never living anywhere near the 1500s. While revealing that SAS was playing into this misconception all along might be funny as a one-off gag, I don’t see much long-term potential for these three. As such, I hope Ghosts Season 4 steers away from this callback.
