Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Ghosts, season 4, episode 7, “Sad Farnsby”
When CBS Ghosts tries to divide his screen time between the title characters, one figure stands out in the large lineup as the star of season 4. Ghosts come from different historical periods and each of them brings a unique perspective to Woodstone B&B. That being said, some invariably seem to get more screen time than others. Sometimes this escalates, as certain characters have powers that make them more relevant more often. Pete's ability to leave the mansion allows him to join Sam and Jay on errands.
This means that plots like Sam and Jay trying to dig up Isaac's diary at a historic site can only involve Pete and not the rest of the cast. However, other characters receive more prominence with less justification. Ghosts Isaac's Season 4 story centered on the biography he co-authored with Sam, his breakup with Nigel at the end of Season 3, and his relationship with the troubled Puritan ghost Patience. In contrast, Flower wasn't even seen in several Season 4 episodes, and characters like Hetty and Thor were largely relegated to the background.
Nigel's Ghosts Season 4 Development Highlights Isaac's Importance
Isaac mended his friendship with his ex-fiancee in episode 7
From season 4, episode 7, “Sad Farnsby”, Ghosts season 4 is officially focused on Isaac instead of the rest of the ghosts. This outing saw Sam and Jay's neighbor, Mr. Farnsby, attempt to sabotage the construction of Jay's restaurant. This resulted in Sam accidentally breaking up the couple when she tried to ask Mrs Farnsby out for a drink. Although Ghosts Season 4's hiatus means the sitcom has only aired seven episodes in the weeks since its release began. It's still notable that this episode's B-story focused on Isaac rekindling his friendship with his ex-fiancée Nigel.
Isaac was the main focus of Season 4 Episode 1, “Patience,” as he tried to escape the Puritan and then fought to save her from “The dirt.”
Nigel and Isaac's romance was central to the overarching story of Season 3, and Isaac's decision to leave Nigel at the altar came as a surprise in the Season 3 finale. What has since turned out to be even more surprising is Ghosts Season 4's continued focus on Isaac's character arc. Isaac was the main focus of Season 4 Episode 1, “Patience,” as he tried to escape the Puritan and then fought to save her from “The dirt”Under the mansion. After that, it was Isaac who finally got rid of Patience in episode 3, “Halloween IV: The Witch.”
Ghosts season 4's biggest stories have Isaac at the center
Isaac reintroduced patience to the Woodstone mansion
Even though it undone Isaac's wish Ghosts season 4 redemption arc, Isaac was the one who tricked Patience into watching sinful television and forced her to flee the mansion in shame and embarrassment afterwards. It was also Isaac's book that Sam sold to a publisher in episode 5, “The Primary Source”, whose main plot centered on Isaac, Sam, Jay and Pete trying to find a way to verify Isaac's claims about his life with a primary source. . In contrast, none of the other ghosts of Ghosts received more than one major storyline in season 4.
Trevor was the focus of episode 4, “The Work Retreat,” and the B story of “The Primary Source” centered on his character. Alberta was central in episode 5, “A Star is Dead,” and Sass was given a pretty substantial B-story in both that episode and “The Work Retreat,” when he and Hetty’s Pete rumor got out of hand. However, even Sass and Hetty episode 4's B-story eventually led back to Isaacwhen the Revolutionary War veteran confronted Pete about his girlfriend Donna's supposed invention.
Ghosts Season 4 Is About to Make Isaac More Interesting
Nat Faxon will soon play Isaac's rival Alexander Hamilton
Since Ghosts Season 4 dumbed down Sam to facilitate the plot of Isaac's biography, it may seem like the series should already have a new focus on the character. However, the CBS sitcom is about to make Isaac's plot a lot more interesting. According to TV Line, The Conners star Nat Faxon has been cast as Season 4's version of Alexander Hamiltonwho Isaac claims was his personal rival throughout his life. Although many fans understandably hoped that Hamilton star Lin-Manuel Miranda would play the role, Faxon's casting is an exciting surprise.

Hamilton's arrival could confirm whether Isaac was on Hamilton's radar or whether the pompous character always exaggerated his importance in the war. This could make up for the plot of Season 4 so far, revealing the depths of his insecurity and explaining why the series has spent so much time exploring his attempts to become more caring, pragmatic, and empathetic. Although it is difficult for Faxon to overcome Ghosts'best guest star so far, Ghosts season 4 can still retroactively justify its focus on Isaac with this upcoming storyline.
